Available for auction is an incredibly rare set of early Weber 46 carburetors supplied by Porsche. These carburetors hold historical significance as they are numbered by Porsche as Weber 186C1/183C.
According to the seller, this set was fully rebuilt and tested in 2016 and is in excellent condition ready for immediate installation. Included in the auction are all necessary components such as the links, manifold, and ITG filter, making it suitable for both rally and street driving.
The testing and tuning were meticulously performed on a 2.5L ST engine with a single plug and a compression of 9.8, as evidenced in the accompanying video. Originally purchased in 2011 for a 2.5L ST twin-plug engine project that never came to fruition, these carburetors have been carefully stored since 2017, only occasionally used for tuning and test drives on a 2.5L ST single-plug engine.
The current configuration of the Weber 46 set includes the following specifications:
Venturi/Choke: 38 mm
Main Jet: 170
Air Corrector: 145
Emulsion Tube: F24
Idle jet: 60
Pump jet: 40
In addition to the carburetors, the sale also includes a manifold that fits well with engines ranging from 2.0L to 2.8L, ideal for rally or streetcar applications. The dimensions of the manifold towards the intake port are approximately 36-38 mm rounded 1-3/middle 36 mm, while the modified 1968S magnesium manifold stands at 68 mm in height. These manifolds are highly regarded for their modifiability. If desired, the manifold can be further customized by increasing the intake to 41-43 mm. Insulators of various sizes, including 38-39 mm, 41 mm, and 43 mm, are readily available for this purpose. Alternatively, 'Tall' PMO manifolds measuring 98 mm in height are suitable for 3.0-3.5L engines, as are the original Porsche 911R/906 manifolds, also 98 mm tall and crafted from magnesium. Please note that the sale does not include insulators, as a 15 mm insulator was used in this setup to achieve a port size of 38 mm-39 mm, with the last millimeter on the insulators dedicated to a single-plug engine. With these Weber 46 carburetors, you have the opportunity to build engines ranging from 2.0L to 3.5L, all while maintaining a period-correct appearance. Notably, Porsche-supplied cars for race and rally purposes that utilized Weber 46 carburetors include the 906, 911R, 914/6 GT, and 2.3-2.5-liter 911ST. Additionally, privateers were able to order Weber 46-equipped cars for their own race and rally ventures, typically designated with letters and a single number, such as H and a number.
Don't miss this opportunity to acquire a rare set of Weber 46 carburetors, rebuilt to perfection and ready to bring both performance and authenticity to your prized Porsche engine. The buyer is responsible for shipping, handling, and fees.

Hi Gents,
Just let me know if somebody would like me to post the dyno test on a 2,5 L ST engine with low and high manifolds to see the difference.
A 2,5 L engine built with Weber 46 and twin-plug for racing and all the best parts as Centerlube Camshafts Original 906 Grid and much more.
High manifolds 283 HP at 8000 RPM rev limit 8,300.
Low manifolds 68 magnesium-modified and 12 mm insulator, 273 hp at 7500 RPM, and very nice torque and rev limit at 7,800 RPM. In my opinion, this is a great build for a rally, hotrod, and racing car!
Thanks
Thanks, PGA for the bid! will provide shipping prices shortly, don't miss out on this perfect rare crankcase! You have a good start to build a very nice hotrod engine or FIA-approved engine (and be period correct)!

After withdrawing from F1/F2 at the end of the 1962 racing season Porsche refocused attention on road racing. The new Type 904 had been developed with an engine bay that would accommodate the Type587 4-cam, the F1 flat 8, and the new Type 901 6-cylinder. When the 901/20 engine was ready in 1964 it was mounted in a handful of 904’s using sand-cast Weber 46IDA3C prototypes.
Testing at Monza in December 1964 pitted the prototype Webers versus Solex 44’s, and Weber was selected for the production run.
The 46mm Webers were only used on these cars to be followed by Sports Purpose 904, 906,911R, 914/6 GT, the 2,3 and 2,5 liter 911ST cars, and rally cars 911S
Additionally, privateers were able to order Weber 46-equipped cars for their own race and rally ventures, typically designated with letters and a single number, such as H and a number.
Testing some auctions here with PCM that have handled the submission fast and very Profesional.
Rare Porsche factory Weber 46 early ones in perfect condition, That I have the history on from 1975, Swedisch engine builder Perry Motors (Ola Larsson: works chief mechanic in the 1960s/70s for Porsche drivers Björn Waldegard and Ake Andersson) is where my friend got the Weber 46 from, another famous engine builder in Sweden and build a 2,5 L engine for a rally car that was driven by many famous drivers to 1985 and then we both the car 2011 include 2 engines and was saving Weber 46 for a special project that did not happen.
The last Pictures are from 2011 when got the car and engines, were running well but had more or less standing from 1990 when the car was off the road.
