Available for auction is an authentic and rare illuminated vintage Mercedes-Benz dealership sign. The seller states these letters were removed from a Mercedes-Benz dealership in Binghamton, New York when they closed in 1989. The letters have been stored in a dry climate since the day they were removed. Each letter is illuminated by a neon tube behind the blue plastic. All neon is stated to be intact and the plastic faces are stated to be free from any cracks. The capital M and B measure 24" tall, while the remaining letters measure 18" tall. The seller is including two brand new power transformers. Genuine Mercedes-Benz signage is rare to come by as they're supposed to be destroyed when removed. The seller will be shipping in a custom crate to protect the sign. The buyer is responsible for shipping, handling, and fees.

@dsdepew Hi, they are all my storage unit in Niagara Falls, NY. I am about 20 minutes away in Canada. It sa bit of a challenge to get across and get more photos, so I will have to have someone do it for me.
The crate has not been built yet, I was waiting for the auction to close and see if the winning bidder wanted one or two shipping crate. Once crate would measure approx 55" long x 28" wide, and 28" tall. I could break that into two to make it easier to handle. I can tell you the backs of the letters are plain sheet aluminum with no rust.
Nice sign. Could you please post pics of the back(s) of the letters too. What are the dimensions of the shipping crate and weight? Thanks.
@Mlane8416 Hi........I apologize for this, and take complete responsibility as I wrote the text for the ad. I appreciate you letting me know. Also, its cool you remember the dealership. I tried to find an old photo online of it and have been unsuccessful.

Ha, people still like to insert the P in Binghamton. Having attended college there I can confidently assert there is no P. I graduated in 1989 and remember that dealership.
