Vintage Heuer Sebring & Super Autavia Dashmount Timers

Available for auction is a set of authentic 1960-70s Heuer Sebring and Super Autavia dashboard timers. The seller states both timers are in excellent condition cosmetically and mechanically. The dials display a wonderful cream patina and wind smoothly while the pushers are crisp and function properly. Both also keep time precise. The pair are mounted on an unsigned dual backplate.
The Heuer Sebring is a split-second timer with a decimal dial. The Sebring uses an A. Schild 1564R, which is a seven-jewel movement. The Sebring includes a 1/5 second and 1/100-minute (decimal) recorder with split action, large hands registering 0 - 60 minutes, luminous dial and hands, 2 crown functions with time-out and locked return, control of split action by left side push button, rotating bezel and is shock-protected.
The Super Autavia is a second-generation example featuring Arabic numerals, a sword-shaped hour hand, a rotating coin-edge bezel with gold-printed numerals, and a Valjoux 5 movement. Heuer referred to the clock feature as the "White System" and it is controlled by the central crown. The "Red System" trip timer shows the time by a red-tipped hour hand against numerals on the rotating bezel, while elapsed minutes are shown by a subdial at 12 o'clock. There is a button atop the crown for controlling the 30-minute stopwatch, and a pusher on the right side for resetting it.
This set makes a perfect complement to the dashboard of any vintage automobile. The buyer is responsible for shipping, handling, and fees.
