The clock has a quartz Swiss movement, which is powered by one AA battery, which can be seen in the photos below, you can replace the battery with a new or different one at any time. Have a nice day.
Its a shame the movement is not viewable on the back! cool clock! Changing the batteries on a clock is the equivalent of an oil change on a car! LOL
