Available for auction is a Sheraton Thompson Indy style Racecar pedal car. The pedal car is a contemporary, professional build pedal racecar. The pedal car’s body is masterfully constructed of an aluminum frame, fiberglass body with all aluminum components, genuine leather seat, and is adorned with the highest quality paints featuring the Sheraton Thompson Special livery and iconic racecar driver AJ Foyt’s painted signature.
The pedal car measures 54” in length, 24" in width, with a height of 20", and an approximate weight of 40 lbs. The Sheraton Thompson Special was driven by AJ Foyt, winner of the 48th edition of the International 500 Mile Sweepstakes held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Memorial Day in 1964, as well as 5 other occasions.
After the car’s final race at the 200-mile event held in September 1964 at the one-mile track in Trenton, New Jersey, just a few months after it’s victory at Indianapolis, the car was repaired and stored in a warehouse for almost 2 years before the car was donated to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum.
The seller states the pedal car is in excellent condition with some minor damage to the front grill. Whether you are Indy car racing enthusiast, collector, or just simply someone who appreciates fine craftsmanship, this fully restored Indy style pedal car would make a stunning addition to any collection. The buyer is responsible for shipping, shipping insurance handling, and transactional fees. PCARMARKET is not responsible for anything lost or damaged during shipping.
