Commissioned by Carroll Shelby, the CSX4000 Continuation Series by Shelby American retains the essence of the iconic 427 Cobras while incorporating a stronger steel frame, improved alloys, enhanced cooling, and additional heat shielding for greater safety and drivability without sacrificing its original character. Reproduced with authentic CSX chassis numbers, this continuation model is #4250 and was completed on July 26, 2002, before its initial delivery to S/C Motorsports of Mustang, Oklahoma. Presented in metallic blue, it pairs a David Kee 4-speed Toploader manual transmission with its 427ci V8 stroked to displace 482ci. This two-owner example has been meticulously maintained and stored inside a climate-controlled garage. Showing approximately 5k miles, it is now offered for auction out of California with a Shelby American Statement of Origin along with a 2011 calendar and V8 Magazine featuring the car.
This Shelby Cobra is finished in a metallic shade of blue bisected by white race stripes and removable #5 decals. Details include chrome quick jack bumpers, a bullet-style driver’s side mirror, a chrome roll hoop, side exhaust pipes, wind wings, and a Le Mans-style fuel cap. It rides on 15” Halibrand-style wheels with knock-off spinners and new Avon Racing radial tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is outfitted with low-back bucket seats upholstered in black leather and matching Wilton wool carpets. Equipment includes Simpson race harnesses, a Shelby wood-rimmed steering wheel, Shelby-branded instrumentation, sun visors, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, and a fire extinguisher mounted to the transmission tunnel ahead of the shifter. Additionally, a Shelby American plaque with Carroll Shelby’s signature adorns the dashboard. All gauges and accessories are confirmed to be working properly.
Power is derived from a Ford V8 engine stroked to displace 482ci, driving the rear wheels through a David Kee 4-speed Toploader manual transmission. Other equipment includes an MSD electronic ignition system, Taylor ignition wires, a Shelby-branded intake manifold and valve covers, and a Pro Systems four-barrel carburetor housed within an aluminum “turkey pan” topped with a K&N filter. It also features a Shelby-branded aluminum radiator with pusher and puller electric cooling fans, rack-and-pinion steering, and four-wheel independent suspension with QA1 adjustable coilovers. The disc brakes have been equipped with upgraded Baer racing-style calipers over drilled and slotted rotors at each corner, along with added Wilwood parking brake calipers. A host of service documents will accompany the sale.
This sale will include a clean title, a Shelby American Statement of Origin, a 2011 calendar & V8 Magazine featuring the vehicle, and additional documentation.
The seller would like you to know: "This car has been meticulously maintained, rarely driven, runs and drives perfectly, sounds fantastic, and has plenty of power. Garage and climate control kept, starts on the first turn, no issues to report."

Entered six figures. Now we are getting close. Based on the last listing, bidders are going to have to step up to get this one bought. What a beauty! GLWS!!!
@Artdeckco there aren't any blemishes on it at all.... i tried to capture all the spots that would show imperfections or where damage would occur... as you can see, there aren't any .... a polish would be worth it!
What a beauty. Great, then the swirl marks will come out and the pain will be picture-perfect again. Where would you identify the greatest scratch or paint damage?
@Artdeckco The car sat in the garage for most of its life and was driven occasionally. The previous owner sold the vehicle to invest in property to the current owner. He did not drive it much as he found it difficult for himself to get in and out given his age. Hence the sale of the vehicle.
Bid in the amount of $100,000
@Artdeckco I have confirmation from the seller that the car has never been tracked. The previous owner bought it in 2002 and has never raced or tracked it. There would be a lot more wear and tear on the car if it had been, as you can see at the fenders, there are no chips or damage from tracking.
Sorry, I'm moving fast now and missed your answer about the car not having been tracked. Is this just hearsay based on what the prior owner told you?
Please tell me what you know about the prior owner and the car's use.
Was this car tracked?
@Artdeckco .apologies ... wrong documents... will upload dyno momentarily
The hard case file folder box has every receipt and document that was every issued to this cobra. That comes with the purchase. All receipts and records

Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
@Artdeckco it has never been tracked

yes.. motor was dyno'd .. it is with all the paperwork.. will try and dig it up and post it.
car is driven on weekends
the mileage is an accumulation over the years... not really driven more one year vs the next
New Brakes, Fuel Lines, Rotors, Calipers, Tires, all have been done. all the original parts have been kept and will come with the car.
purchased the car last year.... and have put approx 600 miles on it.
Hope this answers all your questions... thanks for looking and bidding!
Hi, love your COBRA,
Has it ever been tracked?
Has it ever been in an accident?
Have you ever had any portion repainted?
Have you ever "clayed" the car?
Have you ever had the engine tested on a dyno?
Is it driven each year?
In what year(s) were the majority of the miles driven?
What repairs have been required since your ownership started?
In what year did you purchase the car and what did the odometer read?
Thanks kindly, Paul
