Now up for auction is this original painting by Michael Ledwitz. Measuring 36"x48", this mixed-media painting pays homage to one of RUF's most iconic creations, the CTR Yellowbird. A true analog supercar, the Yellowbird was a wild beast and a true challenge even for experienced drivers. Taming the cars wild nature in anything other than a straight line run required exceptional bravery and quick hands and feet, but rewarded its pilots by offering a thrilling driving experience. Nürburgring inspired graffiti reading "211 MPH" surrounds the car as a reference to its incredible top speed reached on the legendary Nordschleife circuit. With its intricate textures and beautiful colors, this original Michael Ledwitz painting makes the perfect complement to any passionate enthusiast's home or garage.
Michael Ledwitz is known for his abstract style similar to Peter Max and LeRoy Neiman. His love for the arts started with drawing cars at a very young age and was inspired from Hot Wheels. Michael's art is coveted in the automotive industry and has led to many high-level pieces including the artwork done for Carrol Shelby's 85th birthday celebration. Michael's professional career in automotive art started after he was in a near fatal car accident in 2005. He was forced to slow down from work in franchising in order to heal. His painting began as a hobby; a way to relax and reflect. Soon after, people started to notice Michael’s talent and began requesting commissioned pieces of their own. Since then, Michael’s accomplishments include silent auction pieces for Zoo Atlanta, commissioned paintings for Carroll Shelby’s 85th birthday in Las Vegas, Shelby Licensee, and he was the featured artist for the 2018 Atlanta Concours ‘d Elegance at Chateau Elan. This piece is sized 36" x 48".
