No Reserve Illuminated Rothmans Racing Porsche Sign

Available for auction is this rare Rothmans Racing Porsche Dealership Sign. The sign measures 18″ square and features the Rothmans Racing logo and coat of arms above the Rothmans name, with the Porsche sans serif logo in red at the bottom. Construction consists of a black aluminum case, translucent plastic panel, LED lighting, and a European power cord with a US plug adapter. The sign can be stood up or has pre-drilled holes in the back for hanging. In a small reference to the history of Rothmans, it was founded by Louis Rothman in 1890 with a small kiosk on Fleet Street in London. In 1900, Rothman opened a showroom in Pall Mall, where he created this same brand of cigarettes, due to the success of this economic group. 
In 1982, Rothmans decided to bet heavily on the World Endurance Championship, sponsored by Porsche in the 24h. Le Mans. Rothmans beautiful colors fit like a glove on the magnificent 956, and this gamble turned out to be a resounding marketing success with the conquest of 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. According to the seller, the sign was purchased from a Porsche dealer in Germany and is in excellent condition. Buyer is responsible for shipping, handling, and fees.
