Available for auction is a rare illuminated Pininfarina-Bertone dealership sign. The sign measures approximately 84” inches in height and 74” inches in width. A total of 80 signs were produced by the manufacturer Tencon in Centerville, Tennessee. The signs were produced in extremely small numbers in 1983 and 1984 as Pininfarina-Bertone set up a dealership network in the United States, not many were made and even fewer survived.
The sign is constructed of a metal frame with a gray plastic face featuring both the Bertone and Pininfarina logos and logotypes. The logos are embossed giving the sign added dimension and a thin green, white, and red line separates the two halves. The seller states the sign is in good overall condition but does exhibit various signs of aging in the form of scratches on the aluminum frame and peeling paint on the rear of the sign.
The internal sign components are accessed via the sign’s removable backing. In an effort to preserve the sign's originality, the seller elected to keep the original fluorescent lighting and wiring, and the sign currently works flawlessly.
Whether you're a passionate car enthusiast, a collector of automotive memorabilia, or simply an admirer of Italian coachbuilders, this rare Pininfarina-Bertone dealership sign is sure to make a striking addition to any space. The buyer is responsible for shipping, shipping insurance, handling, and transactional fees.
