As per the comment from the seller, this auction has been withdrawn and may be relisted at a later date.
Hey all. Thanks for the comments. Due to those and another issue I'll note below, I've asked PCar to cancel the auction for now.
I've had a couple of these and both were sold to me as being "Porsche Design" and "titanium", but I suspect I and others may have just been repeating the same erroneous information down the line, as Carrera2000 is 100% correct the manual clearly states it is a stainless steel case. It may be the bracelet is titanium, it is very light, but I'm not sure as the manual never speaks to the bracelet's material. I tried a magnet and it is not magnetic, but reading online it doesn't seem like that is a fool proof test of it being titanium or not.
Regarding it being a "Porsche by Eterna" and not a "Porsche Design by Eterna" as stated by Jason952 , I don't know if that matters to anyone or not, but again don't want anyone bidding with wrong information. I've had other Porsche Design watches made by Eterna, which my understanding aren't affiliated with Porsche motor cars, where as this one by Porsche is officially a Porsche product with a WAP # sold by dealers, so maybe that's even better, but I appear to have described it's brand incorrectly and there are definitely people who specifically collect Porsche Design products.
But most importantly, when checking the functions of the hands in response to ee40300's question, I noticed the chronograph reset to zero button is sticking. I have a good watch maker in town who I'm sure can get it unstuck. If its like some other watches I've had the pusher gaskets just get hard over time and need to be lubed and/or replaced. However, I will not be able to get that done before this auction ends, thus think it best to cancel it for now.
To follow up to ee40300's question. The seconds hand is as I stated the smaller sub dial at the bottom, and it is working properly. The white hand that on some watches may be a seconds hand, is the chronograph feature and had just not been reset to zero, thus why it appears unmoved in various photos. The red hand is something I've never seen, but is actually a 1/100th of a second chronograph hand. When you operate the chronograph, the white second hand moves like a normal chrono, and the red hand does not move. Then when you stop the chrono, the red hand sweeps to show the 1/100th of a second you stopped on.
I don't know the rules so if for some reason PCar can't pull the listing, please just bid understanding all of the above. I'll communicate with any winning bidder to make sure they saw this, and if they didn't and don't want it, obviously I will not expect them to buy it. This is why sites like this with a community to help reveal issues is so great.
Is the watch case titanium or stainless steel? The first paragraph of the owners manual shown in picture 8 says stainless steel.
To be clear, this isn’t a Porsche Design watch. It’s equivalent today would be a Porsche “Driver’s Selection” type watch. Cool piece GLWTA
@ee40300 if I recall those hands are not seconds but the chronograph and something else, I’ll double check the manual tonight. You can see the seconds sub dial is moving and when I checked it previously it was keeping good time.
Watch does not appear to be operating in the two photos. Time in both photos is 07:00 & 42 seconds. Does it need a battery?
@fwdodgers0630 yup I’ll be glad to ship it for the buyer. Within US I’ll pay it, outside US I’ll charge just whatever the actual cost is.
Bid in the amount of $235
Will you be shipping this item to the winner? I am guessing the answer is yes but had to ask. Thanks!
