Available for auction is an art piece by Greg Stirling featuring the "Porsche 917K winner of the 1970 Le Mans". This 49" x 33" artwork is a single edition hand embellished giclée print on canvas. Made from poly-cotton canvas material and printed with fade-resistant inks, then hand-applied UV resistant acrylic gel is applied to ensure its longevity. Included with this art piece is a certificate of authenticity that includes exact specifications, details of the artwork, and how it was created.
The Porsche 917 is a sports prototype race car developed by German manufacturer Porsche to exploit the regulations regarding the construction of 5-liter sports cars. Powered by a Type 912 flat-12 engine which was progressively enlarged from 4.5 to 5.0 liters, the 917 was introduced in 1969 and went on to dominate sports-car racing in 1970 and 1971. 
Greg Stirling lives and creates in San Jose, California. After going through three decades of self-guided exploration in abstract expressionism, the art of the 20th century, and post-war impressionism, he arrived at the door of realism. To continue his area of study, Greg experimented with new techniques, media as well as innovative processes and concepts. Mr. Stirling is also an engineer, kinetic metal sculptor, and automotive enthusiast.
A message from the seller: "For this piece I decided to go in a more abstract painterly direction, unbridled from the constraints of realism. I always liked full range color and high saturation. This original art piece is canvas that is stretched, gallery wrapped and ready to hang. A portion of the proceeds from this auction will be donated to charity."
