Available for auction is a Porsche MA176 4.0L flat-six engine sourced from a 2016 GT3 RS (991.2) with only 5,000 km, offered by Speed Vegas—the world’s largest supercar driving experience. The seller states this engine was initially purchased to replace a failed unit in a 2016 GT3 RS (991.1), but was found to be incompatible with the fleet’s 991.1 vehicles, as it is specific to the 991.2 platform.
Known for its motorsport-inspired engineering, this MA176 engine features titanium connecting rods, dry-sump lubrication, and an exhilarating 9,000 RPM redline. It is ideal for a direct replacement in a 991.2 GT3 RS, or for high-performance builds, restomods, or collectors seeking genuine Porsche components.
The current photos, taken on July 8th, accurately reflect the engine’s clean and present condition. The seller states this engine is sold in excellent working order, with no known issues, and is ready for installation or your next project.
The buyer is responsible for tariffs, duties, customs, shipping, shipping insurance, handling, transactional fees or any miscellaneous fees. PCARMARKET is not responsible for anything lost or damaged during shipping.

What a disaster this auction is on many levels.
we have photos of two different engines here.
why was it removed?
Interesting in that MY16 was 991.1 RS... and it lists as 991.2
Some of these pictures show an engine that appears to have been around/in saltwater. Some of these pictures show an engine that may only have 5000 mi. Even different pallets under engine. I am scared so far!
So which engine are we bidding on? The crusty one or the cleaner one? The one with markings on the tank or the one without
Thanks
I think a little more thought should have been put into the preparation before this posted. 13 post detailing pictures of the engine would have been received better than what we have here. JMHO. GLWTA.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t a 2016 still a 991.1?
What’s the story here?
