Available for auction is a Sunoco individual letters gas sign, believed by the seller to be dated back to the late 1960s. This vintage piece consists of seven original plastic letters, each measuring approximately 30" tall, 18" wide, and 4" thick, with an individual weight of about 2 pounds. When properly spaced, the full sign spans an impressive 10 feet in width and 30" in height.
The seller states the sign is in generally very good original condition for its age, though some letters show cracks and have undergone past repairs using tape and heat. Despite these imperfections, it displays beautifully and maintains strong visual appeal.
Ideal for collectors or display, the sign can easily be wired for illumination or mounted as-is for a striking nostalgic centerpiece. The buyer is responsible for shipping, shipping insurance, handling, and transactional fees. PCARMARKET is not responsible for anything lost or damaged during shipping.

Good Morning everyone, Happy Saturday, Merry May, and welcome to the auction of this VERY rare, EXTREMELY authentic, and RIDICULOUSLY original Sunoco sign. That’s sure a mouthful.
I hope folks got through their work week ok, had a nice Friday, and are getting ready for a relaxing and enjoyable weekend. I’ll certainly try to provide some needed fun and distraction with our auction here.
If you’re any kind of Memorabilia aficionado, or even if you’re just a casual fan, you know that authentic and original signs from this era aren’t terribly common. That makes this offering that much more special because of the amazing original patina, and overall completeness of the sign. We’re estimating that it's from the late 60’s, which additionally helps set this offering apart.
This sign is out of a local collection that happens to be owned by a long time friend who is actually a HUGE Porsche guy. For decades, he’s been finding and collecting some of the rarest memorabilia, Porsche or otherwise, that you’ve ever seen; signs, plaques, clocks, crests, die cast models, you name it, he’s got it. His memorabilia collection takes up almost as much room as his car collection; and that’s REALLY saying something.
Now, with the kids out of the house, and their rooms already filling with some of these collectibles, the realization has set in that he can’t possibly display everything. And with eventual downsizing in mind, his larger items are unfortunately having to go. So, the decision has been made to part with this long-standing part of the collection.
Over the next 7 days, I’ll be presenting this unique sign. Folks who follow my auctions know that I’ve always got a stash of back up pictures to add in as we go; and this listing is no exception. I’ll try to keep things as interesting as possible with the discussion as well as the picture adding as we closely inspect every part of the sign.
So, check out the already posted pictures, but get ready for much more to come. Have a great Saturday everyone.
