@dohc59 Hey folks, just added a picture of the original ad for the posters way back when and the date of the custom framing. I was told that these sold out quickly when issued. As you can see, the ad matches this set perfectly and of course as pointed out by @SCCAA they certainly sell for more than the original issue price these days. Not sure why Pcar posted the pics sideways...anyway...good luck to all

@WGris Thanks! This is my first auction here and I appreciate the opportunity. I love the format where there is interaction with the community and full transparency. As we end the auction today just a couple final things. I'm more than happy to work with the winning bidder and either hold for in person pick-up or assist in the shipping. In the shipping regard, I'm happy to do whatever the winner would like to ship at actual cost. I can either take apart the frames and ship the posters in a tube and the frames separate, or I can carefully tape up/bubble wrap etc the posters as they are and ship at cost. To that end, I would think that either way the winning bidder would want the frames, they were all high quality and custom done in 1994 and I'm sure the framing alone would cost quite a bit to replicate today. I'm sure that as discussed earlier if someone wanted to linen back or foam mount the posters, either way they would fit right back into the frames. Anyway, good luck and happy bidding and I'll be monitoring for any additional last minute questions...

Thanks for the must comprehensive answer that could ever be given. Greatly appreciated! GLWTA!!
@SCCAA - Thanks for the added context, I did not know that history. I just know that someone will get an excellent set of artwork ready to hang in their man cave or office. Good luck to everyone...
@WGris - I have no doubt that they are original as each are signed and numbered as shown and on the back of one of them is a cut out of the original advertisement of the poster set and they were all framed back in 1994. As far as provenance, they were purchased with some cars and other art that my friend purchased from a longtoime Porsche collector. Along with these posters, he purchased and original '55 Mille poster, an original Nurburgring poster, and two original airbrush drawings by Kenneth Rush that were used in Karl Ludvigsen's book, Excellence Was Expected. Everything in the collection was excellent and I have no doubts that they are original and would guarantee anyone's money back should they determine otherwise. Happy to add a picture of the original ad that is included on the back of one of the posters.

@TheBen sorry, tried to include you in the response below to keyes3, not sure what happened, but as stated the posters are unmounted in the frames. I could disassemble them all and just send the posters in a tube if someone wanted to mount and reframe their own way.
@JJensen - framed the posters are 20 1/4 x 27... unframed 20 x 26 3/4.
@keyes3 - yes there is indeed a bit of wave or ripple in the posters, likely from just hanging upright over time.
I'm sure mounting them on board or linen would eliminate this.
I disassembled one of the frames and found that they were framed without being mounted, I assume this is just the way the local shop did in in 1994. So the posters could be mounted as mentioned above. I think linen is what most folks prefer as I have heard of some issues with foam mounting.
Hey Folks, thanks for the questions, I'm going out this afternoon to take some measurements and take a good look to answer the additional questions, standby and I'll get back to all.
Bid in the amount of $345
What size are they ?
Seems to be some waviness of the prints in a couple pictures? Can you confirm or refute this please. Maybe it's reflection? Thank you so much
Bid in the amount of $300
Were these mounted on linen or similar...or are they mounted on board?
Hi All and welcome to the auction of 5 Strenger limited edition prints. They were all custom framed in 1994 and are ready to hang. It is my first time auctioning here so I will do my best to get back on any questions asap. Good luck to everyone and happy bidding.
