Available for auction is a RUF aluminum crest. This RUF crest is constructed from 1/4" thick aluminum with a convex curve, measures 22" x 16", and weighs approximately 8lbs. A sticker on the back reads "RUF Automobile GmbH Mindelheimer Straße 21 87772 Pfaffenhausen D- Germany". 
RUF Automobile was founded in 1939 by Alois Ruf Sr. as a German service garage but later began experimenting with vehicle designs in the late 1940s. This love for automobile customization and design was passed down to Alois Jr. as he started servicing and restoring Porsches in the early 60s out of his father's garage. It wasn't until 1975 after the passing of Alois Sr. that the first RUF model Porsche took shape. 
The official unveiling of the RUF 930 took place in 1977 followed by the naturally aspirated 911 SCR in 1978. RUF's long history of custom Porsches still continues today as new models evolve.
