Available for auction is an original DP Motorsport shield. The shield measures approximately 12.5" x 14" (32 cm x 36.5 cm EU size) and is constructed from aluminum. This shield, made in West Germany, features an authentic "DP Motorsport Made in West Germany" marking on the back and is described by the seller as being in excellent condition. 
Founded in 1973 by Ekkehard Zimmermann, DP Motorsport quickly gained recognition through a special partnership with Motul, designing and building chassis for nearly 30 Formula V and Super V race cars that stood out for their distinctive elegance. During this time, Zimmermann first experimented with spoiler modifications for the Porsche 911, which caught the attention of the Kremer Brothers, renowned Porsche specialists and motorsport enthusiasts in Cologne. 
By 1975, DP Motorsport developed an entirely new chassis based on the Porsche 911 for Kremer Racing, leading to the creation of the iconic 911 DP models, which became dominant on German racetracks and secured multiple championships.
