Available for auction is a collection of 55 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix (PVGP) posters, celebrating one of America’s premier vintage motorsport events—the only vintage street race run on public roads in the U.S. This iconic 10-day festival in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has attracted enthusiasts and collectors for decades, and this offering represents a rare opportunity to own a curated selection of its official artwork.
The seller states the majority of the posters are in mint condition, with a few showing minor imperfections such as slight corner bends, small scrapes, or edge creases. Highlights include: a 1985 Jaguar D-Type (11”x17”, Mint); 1986 Lotus (15”x22”, Mint); 1987 Allard (17”x22”, Mint); 1988 MG (17”x24”, VF); 1990 Open Wheel Sprint Car (18”x26.5”, Mint); 1991 Maserati (Near Mint); and 1993 Bugatti (Near Mint).
Additional rarities include multiple editions from 1995 to 2002, such as framed and unframed versions, artist-signed pieces by Thomas Montanari, and two 1999 Mercedes posters signed by Bobby Rahal (one framed, one unframed). The 2001 Motorcycle Thunder Dome poster is especially unique—measuring 8.5”x11” and quadruple-signed by notable figures including KDKA’s John Cigna and John Burnette.
The collection also includes a stunning 2011 Porsche poster (30”x17”) double-signed by artists Randy Owens and Dan Holmes. Whether you're a PVGP enthusiast or vintage motorsport collector, this expansive and well-preserved set is a remarkable find.
