Available for auction is an Illuminated Ferrari Sales dealership showroom sign. The seller states the sign was previously owned by Ferrari of Los Gatos dealership in Los Gatos, California. The sign is date stamped April 1987 by the renowned sign maker Poblocki Sign Company. The sign measures an impressive 36” in length, 20” in width, with a weight of 19 lbs. The illumination equipment is housed within a solid aluminum enclosure, translucent face, and is designed to work with a 110v power source. The seller states the sign retains 3 original markings on the backside of the sign.

The first marking states “Property of Ferrari Los Gatos”, the second marking cites a manufacturer stamp from renowned sign maker Poblocki Sign Company, and the final marking captures the original intent of “Promotion only” by Ferrari. The seller states the sign has undergone some refurbishments throughout its lifetime, its essence remains unaltered, displaying only minor age-related marks and scratches.

This sign is a true collector’s item for any Ferrari enthusiast and would make an excellent addition to any collection or garage space. The buyer is responsible for shipping, handling, and transactional fees. PCARMARKET is not responsible for anything lost or damaged during shipping.

From the photos, it appears all the lettering is stuck onto the plastic face, as opposed to other original signs where the lettering is formed within the plastic face. I'm not saying this sign is not correct, just different from what I've seen before. My mechanic worked at Ferrari Los Gatos for many years. I could show him the photos and see what his response is.

@dino70089 I wonder if the color bands are applied to the face in the same way the cavillino and lettering are.

@dino70089 Thank you so much for your feedback. Upon closer inspection of this piece, you are indeed correct that the illumination is more faint through the three color bands opposed to the remainder of the sign. I have consulted with the family that is managing the liquidation of this private estate collection, and unfortunately they have no additional information on this piece outside of what is presented in the photos and description.

@dino70089 Thank you so much for your feedback. As I have limited experience with packaging fragile items, I plan to consult the local UPS store for proper packaging to ensure safe transit during shipping to its next home.

I could be mistaken, but there's something that appears off to me. When illuminated, the top tricolor band seems completely opaque and does not let any or hardly light thru. I have a similar and original sign, and when illuminated, the green/white/red bands are visibly backlit. It makes me wonder if those bands may have been painted over.

The plastic in these signs is quite fragile especially when you factor in age. If not crated, I'd say there's a 50/50 chance that there could be damage in transit.
