Have to agree here! I love my pieces from Greg and so do car folks that see them. I had no thought they were original Picaso’s…. No one is forcing anyone to buy - so keep the comments positive or move on to ArtNet, buy an original masterpiece and let us actual car guys enjoy... My $.02.
Do you have any Gray Poupon?
I am saddened by the haters - few negative comments that have been posted attempting to derail Greg Stirling and his ART. Yes, I used the word ART. When I build a car, or build something for my company, it is a work of ART that I'm proud of, it's no different for Greg Stirling. Greg Stirling is an artist, he also leverages technology to generate incredible quality. I personally own four pieces of custom art that I commissioned Greg Stirling to create. They all four are in my man cave and I display them proudly. EVERYONE that sees, them LOVES them. They especially love the personalized touches that have been added by Greg, to make them a one of one. I will continue to purchase art from Greg, as he IS an artist, and he creates and generates incredible pieces.
Bid in the amount of $700
@photozach As I recall, that that piece was scanned and no copyright issues were found.
You have a nice evening as well!
@gregstir Good evening
In the 962 print that I shared previously, https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/porsche-917-winner-at-le-mans/, the car looks very similar to the second photo in this gallery, https://www.ecurie.co.uk/blog/2021/10/14/962.
Did you use this photo as a basis for your "art-piece"? If so, did you do it with the permission of the photographer?
I believe you were once an artist, however, it now feels like you are asking AI to do the work for you and you've become more of a printer. This isn't about witch-hunting you as an individual, this is about protecting what it actually means to be an artist.
@Straight-six Hello Straight- six, I do paintings from time to time because they are fun and relaxing.
3/4 of my art business is Sculpture.
I will talk to PCar about the terminology.
Have a nice evening!
@gregstir Greg, you’re still trying to protect yourself. Below is the only hand-painted piece you listed on Pcar. A piece you created after all the pressure you received from the art community.
https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/porsche-917-winner-at-le-mans/
The rest were Photoshopped and AI-generated, and then printed on canvas. Please stop denying it. There is a distinct and noticeable difference between your hand-painted piece and your AI-generated images.
Come on man, we know what real art looks like, and every artist here would agree with my assessment.
All you had to do was include the term “AI” in the title or description of your listings. But you chose not to, because you wanted people to believe it was created by you.
@Straight-six Hello straight six,
Two separate products were established on PCar, Handmade Paintings and Fine Art Prints, (some on canvas, and some hand embellished).
The paintings do command a higher price on average. So the bidders can choose handmade paintings or hand embellished prints at a lower price.
AI does fall under the category of digital illustration.
PCar apparently has a half a dozen artists or so who post their paintings and prints in rotation.
Seems like paintings have differentiated themselves from prints and are getting good numbers. A 12 x 17 piece acrylic on paper sold today for $1,776. I think that’s wonderful and amazing. Very encouraging.
As far I know, my customer satisfaction rating is good.
I hope all is well with you.
Best Regards!
Greg Stirling
I hope PCarmarket now understands why so many have questioned Greg Stirling’s work. This listing was originally described as an “Original Digital Illustration,” but after his actions were exposed, he finally admitted the truth, by saying “I gave the instruction to ‘create a Ferrari F1 image in the style of Greg Stirling,’” meaning it was generated using AI prompts. Greg has been dishonest on this platform from the beginning, selling AI-generated prints as original paintings. Ofcourse Artists and Art enthusiasts will notice and speak out, because it’s wrong.
Sadly this fantastic platform, that use to be a great outlet for professional artists and their original authentic work, is no longer accepting art because of all the Ai images and dishonesty that accompanies them.
PCarmarket should you decide to accept art submissions again in the future, I strongly urge you to adopt more stringent policies to ensure that only genuine, original artwork is listed. There are Professional Artists on the platform who can assist in verifying the authenticity of the artwork, helping to maintain the platform’s reputation and protect both creators and buyers. Ai Art is bad for Business and as long as you have them listed on your platform, there will always be backlash.
@photozach sounds good Zach, I’m not doing anything artistic, there is a handmade painting in that list, and digital art made prior to the emergency of AI, I wonder what you think of that. I was thinking of doing another handmade painting, but PCar is not accepting any more submissions for Art, I wonder why? The record will show that: I either complement another artists work and encourage them, or don’t say anything at all. Some of those older pieces were flagged for copyright concerns. So far Porsche and Ferrari only seem to be concerned about replicas of their licensed products.
@gregstir Okay thank you.
So you type a command into a computer and then AI does all the creative design and then you call it a Greg Stirling original. So you are not actually doing anything artistic?
Next question, you previously stated you were concerned about licensing issues when it comes to using real company logos, are you not worried about naming this piece Ferrari? Were you not concerned about licensing when it comes to this previous AI creation named "Porsche Dunlop/Shell 962 #17"? Are you not concerned about Porsche, Dunlop, or Shell coming after you?

@photozach Hello Zach, I gave the instruction to “create a Ferrari F1 image in the style of Greg Stirling”. So I presume that merges online images of F1 Ferraris with images that I have posted online.
@gregstir, can you clearly and concisely describe exactly what you created and what a computer generated? You say that this piece is AI Enhanced. What does that mean? What did the AI enhance? What did AI start with?
Can you please share with us what exactly you did in this process?
Thank you
@seanhmcgregor This illuminated sign is a printed image on film which is laminated to a plastic sheet and installed in a commercial light fixture. The process behind the image was detailed in a previous post. Will discuss updating the listing with PCM.
Good luck and happy bidding!
@Keepartauthentic couldn't agree more with this.
Calling this an "original digital illustration by Greg Stirling" and not mentioning anywhere in the description that it was actually illustrated by Midjourney (AI) seems incredibly misleading.
Would strongly encourage PCAR admins to review.
@gregstir Greg, respectfully, listen. Your “correcting” what is made by a computer software isn’t anything in comparison to what thousands of artists across the globe are doing entirely with their two hands. Your collectors do not know any better, plain and simply. When somebody pays $3k for an “original” acrylic painting of yours and receives a canvas with a bar code on the back of it because it is clearly a print, you have a problem. PcarMarket admins, read my comment and read it thoroughly. Not mentioning in the title of your work or in the first line in the description that the work is produced primarily by using AI (Midjourney) is deceptive practice. PcarMarket knows this too, which is why they take so many proactive measures to shut those comments down. If you want a respectable reputation, start by labeling boldly what your work is and refrain from stating that it is all of your original work. Midjourney was created to serve as a tool, but not a tool to be used for the exploitation of peoples legitimate crafts and careers. Imagine if a 959 was sold on here for 959 money but it wasn’t stated anywhere that it was a kit car. This would lead to some pretty big issues, would it not? Humble yourself.
@TRIAXES I’ve sold over 60 pieces in the last year and some of my commissions require a great amount of detail and hand-painted corrections. The people who actually bid on my listings, collect multiple pieces of my art, and hire me to do commissions don’t seem to share your concerns. I did not expect people to be looking at my illuminated sign under a magnifying glass. Portraying certain brands requires a licensing agreement. If you’re not happy with the item then simply don’t bid on it. Please help add value to the PCM community by keeping your comments respectful and relevant. PCM moderators reserve the right to remove comments at their discretion
I doubt this is even touched up upon because you couldn’t even make small fixes like the Ferrari logo or the companies on the nose of the formula car. Just incredibly lazy with “AI-Enhancement” just being AI-Creation. Also nobody cares where you were for the delay lol. Just comes off very arrogant “I was preparing 10 new art pieces for a local show”. To see what PCARMARKET has become.
Hello gentlemen, sorry for the delay, I was preparing 10 new art pieces for a local show. The work is described as an AI-enhanced digital art, Photoshop-edited, film-printed, illuminated sign. I’ve also submitted thousands of images to the web, and in some cases use “create automotive artwork in a style of Greg Stirling” Which can be described as "Signature AI Art" or "AI-Enhanced Signature Style". I also plan on adding 4x F1 themed hand signed 8 1/2 x 11 color prints to this auction.
Good luck and happy bidding! Greg Stirling
I would love for the “artist” to verify what role AI took in this “art”- due diligence for any potential bidders on this printing.
Just to be clear, I’ve seen on other platforms that this artist uses AI (mid journey) to generate the image, prints them on canvas, and then adds some paint for texture. Would like the artist to clarify on this before placing a bid, thank you.
Hello, I am interested but also curious if this is AI generated? I would prefer to know if the image is AI generated prior to bidding so I know what I am purchasing.
@Race0nSundays of course it’s AI… takes about 1 min to generate on Midjourney. AI can’t generate accurate logos.
Hello Gentleman, Thank you so much for your bids!! Shipping, handling, and packaging is $185 in the continental US, however if the bid goes above $1500 there will be no charge. Local pickup is also available in San Jose, CA. If you like, I can sign the front of this piece, as well as, sign and date the back. If for some reason, you miss this auction, feel free to reach out to me for prints, paintings, and commissions at: gregstir at yahoo dot com or Instagram @greg.stirling Good Luck and Happy Bidding!! Asking to get clarity - what year is this illustration based off? Mentioning current drivers while not showing the current years car is throwing me off. Also why not nail down the logo on the nose of the car? Is this generated by AI?
