Available for auction is a Daniel Arsham “Future Relic” 1986 Porsche 911 Turbo collector piece in grey #199/500. Included with this very limited-edition sculpture is the “turbo” branded box, custom foam inserts to house the art piece, a set of handling gloves and a holographic verification label. The seller states the box has been opened.

Centered around the idea of contemporary items being discovered in the far future, the Porsche is represented in an eroded state with visible “damage” to the exterior of the classic sports car. Made from hydro-stone and quartz crystals, these limited production pieces have gathered a cult following in both the contemporary art and Porsche worlds. Don’t miss your opportunity to own a piece of the future with this rare Eroded Porsche 930 Turbo. The buyer is responsible for shipping, shipping insurance, handling, and transactional fees.

@newkid this is an example that has been opened. I took an abundance of photos and videos to show the true and as new condition. In my opinion the whole handling glove item included in all these Arshams is a gimmick. This will make a great add to someone’s desk on display for the air to touch and people to see and fingers to pick up.

Adam how many of these things do you have?

  • newkid (registered bidder) 10 months, 3 weeksago

I am a little confused, Is the one being auctioned off pristine, and has not been handled? Or is the one for sale been handled, as in the video? and only the gloves are still pristine? Thanks

@WedgePerformance thank you I chose to keep the gloves in as untouched condition as possible for the next owner to decide whether or not to use the gloves that it comes with.

@Petroli @Adam thanks for the reply. I just assumed the directions provided and the fact the gloves for handling were included with the piece everyone would want to follow those directions to preserve the fine quality of their artwork. It is a limited production piece and very desirable. GLWS I understand that not everyone has the same level of expectation. It really is a nice piece and would look great in my display.

@WedgePerformance thank you and I appreciate you reaching out! This is an open box example that is meant to be enjoyed, displayed, and touched. I would recommend not bidding on this one but one that has is sealed from new.

From the video, I see you are touching the parts with your hands and the recommendation for using gloves to handle the parts was overlooked as the oil from your skin will discolor the finish which will diminish the value of the piece. I'm assuming that has been the case for the car as well and not just the mirrors. Please clarify.
