Available for auction is a ten-binder collection of Porsche literature including factory-issued loose-leaf workshop manuals for the 2004–2006 Carrera GT model. The workshop manuals are divided into ten separate groups and feature replaceable pages.
Carrera GT workshop manuals are said to have been issued by Porsche to dealerships employing technicians specifically trained in servicing the 980 model. The manuals in this collection feature ten separate binders with internal bindings that allow individual pages to be supplemented or replaced. Written in English, each manual is housed in a gray, plastic-covered four-ring binder with maintenance and repair topics divided into ten different groups, namely: diagnostics, engine, fuel and exhaust, transmission, running gear, body, exterior equipment, interior equipment, air conditioning, and electronics.
Three of the binders house general and diagnostic manuals designated under Group 0, including a general troubleshooting guide, repair groups 01-89 and 90-97. One binder contains both Group 1 (Engine) and Group 2 (Fuel, Exhaust, Engine Electronics) manuals, and another holds both Group 7 (Interior Equipment) and Group 8 (Air Conditioning) manuals. The remaining binders each contain single manuals with individual group designations. The manual designated Group 9 sets forth repair procedures for the car’s electrical system. The latest supplements appearing in any of the manuals state that they are “printed in Germany” in 2003. The set is up to date through Supplement #3.
