Available for auction is a Le Mans memorabilia collection commemorating Porsche’s iconic victory at the 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans. This unique offering centers around the Porsche GT1 that not only won Le Mans on June 6–7, 1998, but also famously flipped during the inaugural Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta on October 8, 1998.
Included is a piece of carbon fiber and Kevlar from the driver-side wheel well of that very GT1, visibly seen separating from the car in footage of the crash.
Accompanying this are several highly collectible items: a 1:18 scale die-cast model of the 1998 Le Mans-winning Porsche GT1 signed by drivers Allan McNish and Stéphane Ortelli; a framed and matted print of the flip event titled Lift Off by artist Roger Warrick; a framed official Porsche factory poster celebrating the 1998 win; and a smaller framed factory poster also depicting the victory, signed by McNish and legendary Porsche engineer Norbert Singer, who played a key role in 16 Le Mans wins.
The carbon fiber piece is presented in its as-removed condition, while the other items are reported by the seller to be in very good to excellent condition. The buyer is responsible for tariffs, duties, customs, shipping, shipping insurance, handling, transactional fees or any miscellaneous fees. PCARMARKET is not responsible for anything lost or damaged during shipping.
