Now offered for auction at no reserve is this 2010 Porsche 997.2 GT3 finished in Black over a black full leather and Alcantara interior. Marking the last of the GT3s to have been equipped with the coveted Mezger engine, the 997.2 generation carried over the tried-and-true engine design with an increased 3.8L displacement. Approximately 2,200 examples of the 997.2 GT3 were produced in total, of which only 654 were reportedly delivered to the United States. This 2010 GT3 was sold new by Parktown Imports of Missouri at an original sticker price over $134k with the optional Sport Chrono Package Plus, Sound Package Plus, heated seats with Porsche crested headrests, illuminated door sill guards in stainless steel, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), and more. Acquired by its third and current owner in 2020 with less than 3k miles driven since, this GT3 is now being offered for auction out of Idaho with approximately 14k miles showing on the odometer. The seller adds that 1% of the auction proceeds will be donated to Toys for Tots.
This GT3 comes finished in nonmetallic Black with removable matte vinyl racing stripes as well as factory-painted headlight cleaner covers. Compared to the generation prior, the 997.2 GT3 received updated aerodynamics including a newly designed front spoiler and rear wing. This example has been preserved by a layer of clear Xpel paint protection film over the hood, front fenders, bumper, and mirror covers as well as an application of ceramic coating to the doors and roof panel. The factory 19” center-locking GT3 wheels come dressed in a set of new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this GT3 has been appointed with premium black full leather and Alcantara upholstery along with optional illuminated door entry guards in stainless steel and heated seats with Porsche crested headrests. Other optional features include self-dimming mirrors with an integrated rain sensor, Sound Package Plus, a fire extinguisher mounted below the driver seat, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM 3.0) with extended navigation, XM radio, a universal audio interface, and Bluetooth phone interface. Only minor signs of wear are noted on the driver seat and the seller reports a slight intermittent rattle from the right door speaker. An integrated K2 laser jammer is hidden behind the front bumper and is currently disconnected.
This GT3 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.8L flat-six Mezger engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. This dry-sump engine features titanium connecting rods, VarioCam variable valve timing, a two-stage resonant induction system, and a sport exhaust with twin center tailpipes. As much as 435 HP and 317 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels, allowing this GT3 to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in approximately 4 seconds with a top speed over 190 MPH. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is equipped as standard while optional performance features include Sport Chrono Package Plus and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB). A DME report is provided in the gallery and recent service is said to include an oil change as well as replacement of the air filter, cabin filter, and exhaust O2 sensors. The car has also recently passed an emissions test.
This sale will include a set of two keys, original owner's manuals, and a clean title. Offered at no reserve and with a portion of the hammer price being donated towards a worthy cause, this highly sought-after and well-optioned 997.2 GT3 presents an opportunity that is not to be missed.

@Lexday47 exactly. If you are a dealer looking to flip the car tomorrow then perhaps today’s market price is all that matters. But if you’re in this for the long-haul, you know that great cars almost always go up in value. Especially when it comes to very low production cars like the 997 GT3 and especially the .2. The pinnacle of non turbo merger powered 911s.
I have a garage full of cars that were bought years ago with a gallery of folks telling me how much i overpaid , including a Ferrari 275/4 cam at 225K,a lexus LFA at 325,a 3200 mile 996TT 53K so worrying about old values will stress you out.Hell i once owned 3 BMW 507 roadsters at the same time and i remember getting 50K for the nicest one at the time when i sold it sometimes you win and sometimes you don't if you're keeping score !!
Congratulations Buyer and Seller
Confident the seller made a nice profit and the buyer is going to totally dig this GT 3 !
( Buyer remember my Fab-Speed comments. I have no connection to them but what a great difference it made on my 2010 GT 3 ! )
Congrats! I’m happy it will go to a great home. Call you after lunch :)
167.5K with fees. I think the black color and lack of a few key options held price back. Mileage is good but not crazy low which is what fetches the insane prices on some of these cars
Sold for $162,500
Well bought. These will trade commonly for over $200k in a year is my bet. And it sucks because I want a white/gold 997.2 GT3RS and it ain't happening. People are keeping them. There are few to begin with, and if you search Copart we lose several to accidents and floods every year.
Wow a great deal in today’s market.
have meeting at 2 - tapped out as well - best of luck all
It's not just Porsche. Every analog manual enthusiast car is going up in value. The GT3 just happens to be the cream of the crop.
We’ll consider dealer are charging this much for a base 992 Carrera, this is an amazing deal - so much more car than the standard 911
@Mandinga True... deep pockets still create the conditions
And you could buy a 993 TT for $79k years ago too. I sold my Challenge Stradale for $139k There are many 991 and 991 GT3 owners coming back to this car, and they are very low production.
@sportscarguy3 Per Adam Smith (the father of economics) Demand: P = 15 – Q. Supply: P = 3 + Q
Good luck to all the bidders! Tapped out at $159,972. This goes to at least $170k. Extremely beautiful car with a reputable Rennlist member. What more could you ask for? Very lucky buyer today.
Bid in the amount of $162,500
everyone has an opinion
@sportscarguy3 - behind auctions there are people buying. Its the market. Moreover, now it's more transparent for all to see and compare. Call it inflated. It is what it is.
@sportscarguy3 The market is the market, and on PCAR we have knowledgeable sellers and buyers...A year from now, let's see what the market is!
@sportscarguy3 that's what's been said about every desirable Porsche ever. And yet they still continue to appreciate.
Let's just focus on THIS car and details etc...
@sportscarguy3 insane or not, it’s going over 160
Bid in the amount of $162,000
@GlennG No Sir ! while I do regret the sale I am also Porsche knowledgeable
and, as I mentioned, the market is insane currently
@sportscarguy3 doing it for toys for tots - not car.....;)
@sportscarguy3 1.5 years ago you could buy gas for $2 per gallon.
@TubeGuy I OWNED one for 3 years !
I am very familiar with them
This venue, auctions, create the inflated market
1.5 years ago you could buy this Gt 3 for 90 K !
Bid in the amount of $161,000
@sportscarguy3 you're only saying that because as you admitted, you sold yours already and it burns you how much they have gained value.
Bid in the amount of $159,972
Bid in the amount of $159,500
Everything is so right with this car. Great car, great gesture for the donation to toys and tots as well.
@sportscarguy3 I don't think you know them very well. 997.2 GT3 and GT3 RS are the ultimate 911 in the opinion of many, and GT3 RS cars are in the mid and high$200k
Bid in the amount of $159,000
@sportscarguy3 lmao.
@sportscarguy3 I think all of us in this thread don't want to go over 160
Bid in the amount of $158,500

How is this car not at 180k yet?
@Lynperez same

I’m gonna have to have a long two minute talk with the wife and be right back
I regret selling my 2010 GT 3 several months ago. ( 15 K mikes )
If for no other reason than the investment ( prices have climbed SUBSTANTIALLY ! )
A really " perfect " Porsche ( water cooled )
Does everything and more with style and comfort
Good luck all
Bid in the amount of $150,000
Bid in the amount of $147,000
Surprisingly little action here. 2 weeks before Christmas may not be the best time to garner a lot of interest. The white 997.1 on BaT was basically just stolen.
Bid in the amount of $145,000
@911reasons These were not on the original build sheet but the overwhelming feedback was to leave them for the auction. I will remove before sending to the new buyer if requested.
Thx!
Bid in the amount of $143,000
Are the black strips on hood and roof from the factory?
@labellamacchina993 It was not installed during my ownership and I was not sophisticated enough to know if it's usable and still working. I stopped by a stereo shop and they said its a fully stealth/hidden system and I did not feel comfortable with them taking off panels to find out more, they said typically it is wireless and needs a remote which did not come with the car.
I need my christmas bonus and quick...ugh I have FOMO on this one--they don't get cleaner and nicer than this--and for those that know the seller as we do from Rennlist, THIS IS THE TYPE OF SELLER you dream of when buying a car. I may have to raid my kids' tuition fund over this--I figure he would forgive me some day when he inherits it right?!
Hello seller,
is there any more info you can share regarding the K2 laser jammer and if it was installed during your ownership. Also, why it is disconnected, is it malfunctioning o is missing parts.
Thanks,
Bid in the amount of $140,750
Bid in the amount of $140,500
Thanks , i think they look good but just wondered about origin.
Bid in the amount of $140,000
This GT3 is just perfect. The specs, the condition, the DME.........Anyone who is in the market for a 997.2 GT3, last of the Mezger engined cars, should seriously consider this car! They just don't get any better.........Unsolicited comment from an enthusiast.
Beauty! Bias as I own it’s doppelgänger. Will be watching this auction, although I’m never selling.
@Lexday47 These are 3M Vinyl stripes, which I can easily remove after the auction if the owner desires. Vinyl serves as a protecting layer and will not damage any surface.
Bid in the amount of $138,000
Were the black accent stripes factory or added by owner and are they-paint or wraps and could a new owner have them removed without original paint damage, thanks
amazing car! GLWA!
Minty Fresh! And great options. Much want.
Beautiful car, and great way to support Toys for Tots.
Bid in the amount of $135,000
@Anguis Boise, Idaho
Where is the seller located. State, city please.
@fayraree The car has not had an engine out service for coolant lines, that’s typically a track prep item or done in conjunction with another major repair.
@fayraree I cannot speak to previous owners but the emissions fail was a bad O2 sensor, so I replaced them all. However I did not know that it would show up on carfax more than once when I was trying to drive cycle the car for emmisions preparation.
Great specimen! Any reasons provided by prior owners for the previous failed emissions? And has the coolant line weakness been addressed?
Wow
Bid in the amount of $130,000
Bid in the amount of $127,000
I’ve been asked by a few people if I would be willing to wait on delivery and payment until 2022 for year end bonus payments. I’m honestly fine with it with a 20% non refundable deposit.
Beautiful car and awesome seller! GLWS!
I have the identical car, mint condition car with 21,000 miles. Mine was owned by a local and known to me original owner for the first 20,500 miles. I will be very interested in the final bid on this car.
Beautiful!
Awesome car, awesome seller. GLWA!
looks like a beautiful example, as a .2 gt3 owner myself, ill be watching this closely. glws!
Great car! I have this exact spec’d car only I have white…. It’s wild to watch what they go for… mine even has 14k miles… wow.. I’ll watch
Awesome car and rennlist member, GLWS!
A true enthusiast owned car, GLWS!
Perfect spec. GLWS!
This one checks all the boxes. GLWS
PCCBs are the biggest option on a GT3. Unless you've driven a car with and without them, you simply don't know. This car looks mint and should bring all the money.
I want my friend to get this car. He's actively looking. If I didn't have my car , I would go after this and not let up until it was in my garage.
Absolute beauty in mint condition with great options especially pccb. Awesome to see a donation to charity as well!!! Good luck with sale WonderDan!
mezger.... nuff said
Being the proud owner of a factory ordered 2010 GT3 in GT Silver (sold long ago), and also currently a 2010 GT3 in Basalt Black, I can guarantee that the new owner will absolutely love this machine.....Beautiful car and presentation WonderDan!
Gorgeous car! There will be a fight for this one for sure
Bid in the amount of $125,000
I’ll be watching this closely. @Wonderdan seems to be a straight up seller with nothing to hide. Car looks impeccable too…
Bid in the amount of $95,000
Happy to have recently moved into a new 997 and I am now sad to see this one go. Good luck to the bidders and I hope it finds a new owner that babies it as much as me. Feel free to reach out with any and all questions.
