Being offered for auction at no-reserve is this 2002 Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Cabriolet 6-speed finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Metropol Blue leather interior. With a factory build sheet totaling over $93k, this 2002 example showcases exclusive options including both the Technic and Comfort Packages. This Carrera is stated to have been properly maintained by its current owner with several noteworthy recent service items and upgrades. Having had a crack develop in its cylinder wall at the current mileage of 154k, this 996 represents an incredible value for anyone prepared to carry out the necessary repairs.
This Carrera 4 is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with a power operated Metropol Blue cabriolet top. The paint is stated to be in great original condition with some minor chips and scratches, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with paint meter readings. Details include a “facelift” front bumper, Litronic Bi-Xenon headlights and factory 18” Carrera alloy wheels which come dressed in healthy Continental tires from 2018. The wheels have been covered in Plasti-Dip and the center caps are vinyl wrapped, although the seller states that these are easily removable should the buyer prefer.
Inside, this Carrera is appointed with a Metropol Blue full leather interior featuring supple leather front and rear seats. Exclusive options include Metropol Blue floor mats, the Comfort Package, the Technic Package and Porsche crested headrests. The cabin is said to be in good condition with minor wear and the seller notes that the cabriolet top motor was replaced in 2019. All gauges and accessories are reported to be fully functional, although the LCD screen is said to be failing.
Power comes from a 3.6 L flat-six engine which sends approximately 320 HP to all four wheels by way of a preferable 6-speed manual transmission. Purchased by its current owner 2 years ago at 144k miles, the following service items and upgrades have been carried out at the corresponding mileages:
About three weeks ago the seller indicates that a cylinder wall crack occurred which caused a total loss of compression in one of the cylinders. Metal flakes were found in the cylinder and the seller’s mechanic recommends the engine to be replaced, although it has not yet been fully inspected and still may be a candidate for repair. The engine is stated to bear approximately 154k original miles.
The sale of this no-reserve 996 will include one key and some service records. With the right investment and determination, this beautifully configured Carrera 4 can be enjoyed for years to come.

@Cookiejan Ok, sounds good, I have no issues with holding the car while waiting for shipping!
Also I wanted to remind everyone that the car includes the wind deflector and the carrying bag!
@Arctic911 ok great I need to ship overseas so will take some time. 1 month should do
@Cookiejan I would like to get the car out quickly, but I would be ok with waiting around a month
Hi, how long do I have to collect the car after the auction?
@Bill930P @AtPorsche If you wanted to pick it up the car would be at 11746,
@Arctic911 - thanks for the reply. I ask because I'm trying to figure out shipping. What is the zip code where the car would be picked up?
@Bill930P @AtPorsche The car will start, it might be able to move on its own power, but I wouldn't try to do that as it could damage the engine further.
@Arctic911 - does the car still run and drive under it's own power?
Bid in the amount of $3,000
Bid in the amount of $2,250
@MacG Ah apologies. I see you have posted them already.
@Arctic911 Is it possible to get pictures of the underside? As it a NY vehicle would like to learn rust level. Thanks.
@Arctic911 I will always cheer on the 996. I have a 02 with grey leather and deviated Metropol blue dash and wheel. The blue is so much more superior to black. I’m not sure why Porsche doesn’t have it still available.
@Mercyhealth Thank you! I love Metropol blue it's a beautiful color!
Metropol blue full leather interior is so great and relatively uncommon to see. It’s absolutely amazing that at over 150k miles these 996s still look ready and able. If these cars are well taken care of they can drive you to the moon. Good luck and happy hunting
