@JSJLandy if robmsales bails I'm a buyer for $900 plus shipping.
@JHemig can you provide contact details so I can get parts to rebuild shocks?
Sold for $900
@robmsales To anyone who wins the bid, I will buy the parts to repair the front shocks, you take it to the local bike shop to have it installed. I am sure it would not be very expensive to have them rebuilt. They are pretty simple.
Hi JSJLandy-well this is a big-time surprise-I want this to take to the Porsche show with my other 993's-1996 TT 1997 C4s- 1998 Carrera- it would be cool looking- but not knowing that the front shock need rebuilding- I'm thinking I need to withdraw my current bid- unless your willing to fix this issue- maybe JHemig can shed some light where to get the parts, etc.
Let me know your thoughts and thanks a lot
@JHemig Hello,
I have a Bike S and I need to buy the front fork... I dismantled it a lot of years ago trying to rebuild it and I made a mess ending up in losing almost all the parts. can you help me finding the parts?
@JSJLandy Also, this is a first gen 1996 Bike S, not 1998. 1996 is the first year these were made and this is a large size frame. Great bike!
@JHemig awesome. Thanks for pointing it out.
@JSJLandy I have rebuilt many of the Porsche Bike S and Bike FS forks. If anyone needs help with instructions or where to buy the parts, let me know.
@JHemig I would not have even noticed if you hadn’t pointed it out. I don’t ride it much. I can have my local shop rebuild the shocks. I just looked at new pictures of the Bike S and it does look like the are fully compressed.
@maxmilford the shocks have fully decompressed and need to be rebuilt.
@maxmilford I had it serviced at a local bike store. Most of the components are made by current suppliers of higher end mountain bikes.
Is there anyone that sells parts for these old Bikes?
Just found out there is a service called Bike Flights. I will have the bike boxed and ready for anyone who wants it shipped upon winning the auction and payment being received. https://www.bikeflights.com/ship
