Up for auction is a very original and low-mileage 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe at NO RESERVE! Due to its clean and highly original state, this 911 would be right at home in any enthusiast's garage. The car started its life in Georgia, eventually making its way to Pennsylvania where it currently resides. Showing only 36,279 original miles on the odometer, this Carrera is extremely well-preserved.
This 911 is said to retain its original Guards Red paint, making it that much more special. The exterior is shows to be in exceptional condition for its age and mileage with only a few minor rock chips and a small ding on the back side of the passenger side mirror. This car also retains its original 16" alloy Fuchs style wheels that are wrapped in period correct Goodyear Eagle tires with ample tread. Upgraded exterior color-matched Porsche crested wheel centers are currently installed.
The black leather interior of this 911 is stated to be in excellent condition with only minor creasing on the driver's seat bolster. This Carrera was ordered with factory options such as a sunroof, alarm system, and a Monterey digital radio. All electrical systems and accessories are in great working order including the A/C. The fully original interior on this 911 helps to make it a rolling time capsule.
This 911’s 3.2-liter flat six engines produces 207HP and accelerates this car to 60 mph in under 6 seconds, still impressive by today’s standards. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via the desirable 915 manual transmission. This Carrera has been maintained properly throughout its life and is stated to be in perfect running condition. The seller does note that a previous owner, an engineer, fabricated a one-off “axle lift” system on this 911. This system incorporates a bar underneath the car, fitted with wheels that allow the car to simply roll rather than scrape over surfaces during bottom-outs. This system will not only prevent scrapes, but will protect expensive components from critical damage. (Original bar included with sale)
The sale of this highly original 911 will include a clean Carfax, original tools, keys, spare tire and window sticker; all of which are in good condition. As the market heats up on all air-cooled 911’s, pristine and highly original examples such as this one are quickly climbing in value and are being snatched up by enthusiastic collectors worldwide. This is your rare chance to own a true piece of Porsche history.

@ERLY911 The mileage is true and is being represented as such. There is nothing in the vehicle history to show otherwise. We, as a licensed dealer, are obligated by federal law to report mileage correctly. Further, the mileage on the current PA title is shown and status is "Actual Mileage," not "Exempt" or True Mileage Unknown." Bid with confidence as the mileage is absolutely true.

Very nice Carrera. A couple things, the “over spray” on the car is consistent with how they were painted at the factory. Only incorrectly restored/painted 911’s have hard break lines between the side and bottom. These were still hand painted cars at the time. No robot.
How is the mileage documented? Just the odometer reading is insufficient. Is there documentation that verifies it? The car looks consistent with reported mileage, but the documentation is the true icing on the cake.

@RichardLumpp Though this car will have no issues making the trip, we would err on the side of caution and recommend that the tires be replaced before driving anything more than a local run. There is certainly plenty of tread on the current tires but knowing that they are at minimum ten years old makes them questionable in terms of durability and safety. We will help the winning bidder arrange the replacement of the tires prior to delivery at his or her request.
@sinciardi This car has had two previous owners.
@superfly Will do in the morning. Sorry for the delay.
@Gteamy Will post in the morning. If you look closely at the pictures from under the car, you can see the bar under the front of the car. It has two very small wheels/rollers on it that roll on the ground when the car is at an angle while protecting the underside of the car. Pics will post tomorrow. Thank you.

@RichardLumpp I wouldn't attempt it unless you put a set of new tires on the car before you set out. Just my humble opinion.
Would you, as a buyer , feel comfortable driving this car all the way to South Florida after purchase?

@sinciardi Additional vents in above the shiftier can be seen in the pictures. Any other questions?
@mcotml.com: what do you mean by your comment on the air conditioner? "In fact, the additional air conditioner put in the center console is actually quite good."
Thanks
@sinciardi Everything works as it should including all power features. In fact, the additional air conditioner put in the center console is actually quite good. You could daily this car in the summer without breaking a sweat. All gauges work including the clock!
The previous owner did most of the maintenence himself since he was an engineer so there are not very many records. We had the car looked at by a European car specialist we use for most all of our inventory and had it looked at a second time by a Porsche specialist. Both agreed that the car is in good working order. Fluids are all fresh including engine oil, transmission oil, and brake fluid. Fluids were done as of the end of June.
@mcotml.com What about service details and dates? Oil/filter change? Last valve adjustment? Last brake flush? Do all of the gauges including the clock work? Does the sunroof work as designed? More details? Thank you.
@sinciardi Pictures of every panel showing readings consistent with all original paint have been submitted and should post shortly. There are no compression readings available at this time. We do not have an in-house mechanic so they will not be available before auction end. The car is being represented as having good compression on all cylinders. At the winner's request, we will have compression figures measured by a local Porsche specialist verifying good compression or the winner may opt out of the purchase.
to mcotml.com: Besides a set of new tires, what does the car need? Does the sunroof work as designed? When was the last brake flush performed? Last oil/filter change? Last transmission lube changed? Need a compression reading and paint meter reading to decide to move forward. Thanks
Please post the paint meter readings and the compression readings of the engine. Thank you

@GillesB We work by appointment only. Thank you.
@JPD There is no overspray. The paint is original. Please consult a paint and body specialist that will confirm the pictures display an original, 1985 Porsche. The underbody of this car is consistent with an original 1985 911. Pictures of paint meter readings will be submitted to PCar Market tomorrow for upload. Thank you.
@reinyb If a compression check was completed, results will be provided tomorrow when we are back in the office tomorrow. We represent this vehicle with acceptable compression in all cylinders. Paint peter readings will be provided tomorrow as well.
@iso7 Thanks for the question. This car was purchased from the second owner’s family. He is an electrical engineer that resided in Georgia. He was not able to use the car because of health issues going back about ten years. He did have the car serviced annually though it was not used driven much, if at all, between services. When we acquired the vehicle, it was sent to our mechanic for a full inspection as we do with all of our inventory. Fluid/filter replacement was the only maintenance required and as for repairs, washer fluid hoses were replaced as was a seal I the shift lever. Tires were recommended for age. We chose to keep the original Goodyears on the car since they are period correct and hold air. That said, it would be wise to purchase new tires before putting this car into regular use. We would recommend keeping the ones on the car now as they add value to this virtually all original car.
