Available for auction is a 1980 Piaggio Ciao, a lightweight and iconic moped celebrated for its practicality and reliability. Produced by Piaggio from 1967 into the early 2000s, this 1980 model retains its classic minimalist design and efficient engineering.
Powered by a 49cc single-cylinder, two-stroke engine with a Dell'Orto carburetor and a 2% oil-petrol mixture, it features pedal-start ignition with a magnetic flywheel and a belt-driven variable-speed transmission (in PX and Ciao Mix versions). Built on a sturdy steel frame with a rigid rear structure, it includes a telescopic front fork, 17-inch wheels with either sheet metal or light alloy rims, and drum brakes on both wheels.
With a top speed of approximately 24.9-28.0 mph and a remarkably light 88 lbs, this Ciao is both nimble and easy to handle. The seller states it was purchased new and has remained a single-owner example in great condition, making it a rare find for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
The buyer is responsible for shipping, shipping insurance, handling, and transactional fees. PCARMARKET is not responsible for anything lost or damaged during shipping.

Built by Piaggio in Italy for many years.
In 1967, the Ciao was introduced, a vehicle more similar to a bicycle that d'Ascanio had designed in 1955 and which remained in production, almost unchanged, until 2006.
HI
This Piaggio Ciao scooter was called a velocipede so that the engine could be turned off and it could be used as a bicycle, so they had already thought about its dual functionality.
