Available for auction is a limited-edition 1:12 scale semi-assembled premium model of the Enzo Ferrari by Tamiya and a 1:12 scale Ferrari F50 Collector’s Club Special Edition model by Tamiya.
The Enzo Ferrari model is constructed from high-quality materials including resin, metal, photo-etched meshes, and synthetic rubber tires. This model features a one-piece monocoque frame, as well as a highly detailed V12 engine and drivetrain. Suspension arms combine with dampers and stabilizers for an actual working suspension. Metal-hinged gull-wing doors open smoothly thanks to built-in springs and dampers. The front and rear cowling can be opened allowing display of the model’s internal features.
Unique to this Collector’s Club Premium model example, it represents #142/200 Limited-Edition units personally signed by Shunsaku Tamiya. The boxes are individually numbered and come with an embossed Certificate of Authenticity. The seller states this model was removed from the box and loosely assembled to showcase an official Tamiya acrylic case that will also be included with the sale. The seller also states it has since been properly repackaged as delivered new in December 2004, when shipped from the Tamiya America Direct Sales Department based in Aliso Viejo, California. The original assembly instructions, tools, and special display placard remain in the box.
The Ferrari F50 is a Collector’s Club Special Edition model. The seller states the model was also removed from its factory packaging for photographic display inside an original Tamiya display case, and immediately returned to the box. The model features similar details such as a full monocoque frame, faux suede, and carbon fiber accents on the interior, along with synthetic rubber tires and functional suspension. The F50 has the option of using the hardtop roof or the roadster tonneau cover while on display. The seller states it will not include the Ferrari luggage bag, tire tool, or screwdriver as they were not included in the box, but the factory assembly instructions are present.
The seller notes the acrylic covers on the Tamiya display cases have small cracks at the lower corners. Both kits are licensed replicas by Ferrari, each having an endorsement seal on their respective boxes. Whether you're a passionate Ferrari enthusiast, a collector of automotive memorabilia, or simply an admirer of fine craftsmanship, these superb Ferrari models by Tamiya are sure to make a striking addition to any collection. The buyer is responsible for shipping, shipping insurance, handling, and transactional fees.
