Celebrating the 40^th anniversary of Mini’s first win at the Rallye Monte Carlo in 1964, the 2004 Mini Cooper S MC40 was produced in a limited series of 1,000 examples and features a Chili Red exterior with special graphics as well as front driving lights, 17” cross-spoke wheels, chrome accents, and a two-tone interior carbon fiber trim. It derives power from a supercharged 4-cylinder engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The car offered here shows approximately 163k miles on the odometer and benefits from considerable recent service including a new steering rack, power steering pump, clutch master cylinder, sway bar bushings, and more.  It is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Florida.

The MC40 features a Chili Red finish complemented by a white roof and a chrome front grille, fuel cap, mirror housings, door handles, and body trim. The exterior is also appointed with chrome front driving lights and commemorative Rallye Monte Carlo decals. It rides on a set of 17” cross-spoke anthracite wheels. Some fading is present on the headlights and exterior graphics, and the seller notes some areas of paint protection film are peeling away from the hood. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing a rear-end collision with damage to the left rear end in 2022.

The cabin of the MC40 is appointed with two-tone black and red leather rally seats, a JCW carbon fiber dashboard, a three-spoke leather sports steering wheel, auxiliary gauges, commemorative rubber floor mats, and a matte chrome shift knob with a 40th-anniversary logo. Other features include stainless-steel Cooper S treadplates, stainless pedal covers, an aftermarket radio, and a commemorative placard between the seats which shows the car’s individual production number (796/1000). Some signs of wear are present on the seating surfaces and the seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.

Up to 163 HP and 155 lb.-ft of torque is sent to the front wheels from a supercharged 1.6-liter inline 4-cylinder engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The MC40 Package also includes Dynamic Stability Control. A service invoice provided by the seller shows the clutch and brake master cylinders and reservoir to have been replaced along with the power steering pump, hoses, steering rack, lower control arm bushings, sway bar bushings, a front speed sensor, and a window regulator in May 2023 by German Auto Solutions.
