Available for auction is a custom-built Porsche M28 V8 engine display table, sourced from an early-production 1978 Porsche 928 (#144). This furniture-grade piece features a fully bead-blasted and powder-coated engine block, with the aluminum block, heads, cam carriers, and intake finished in a metallic silver, and the cast iron headers in gloss black. All internal components have been removed for weight reduction and aesthetic display. The seller states Michael Alan Ross was the photographer for the engine table photoshoot.
Topped with a 40" x 46", 1/2"-thick tempered glass surface, the top features precision laser-cut sculpting to contour around the intake tubes, creating a striking visual centerpiece. The table is mounted on lockable casters for easy mobility, weighs approximately 250 lbs including the glass, and is fully modular for breakdown and reassembly.
The table will be professionally carton-packed and palletized with wood sides by a logistics company. A truly unique, functional art piece for the Porsche enthusiast.

The “Buy Now” price was incorrectly set to $1,300 in MarketPlace when the auction concluded, this was a clerical error on our backend system.
The "Buy Now" price has been corrected to $9,000. Our apologies to the Seller and Bidders.

RNM...Building one of these is not cheap if done correctly like this one. The glass alone is expensive. Thank you to everyone for your interest great comments.

To be clear. the glass does not fit over the top. The intake tubes fit in and around the glass. It would have been much easier and cheaper make it so the glass just slid over the top. Note the the glass was cut around the intake tubes. This was the biggest expense and it was difficult to find a glass company that would do it this way. Also expensive. There is a whole in the center where the MAF pokes thru. The bolts that hold every thing together are stainless that ave been polished and the black bolts are powder coated, not painted.
The badge on top of the intake is not correct to the year (1978) The badge is new stock from Porsche.
Porsche has changed the badges a few times through the years but few people are aware of it.
@rbrunson, It's easy to take apart and transport. The heaviest part is the glass which weights about 82#s . The block itself weighs around 75#'s then the heads and cam carriers all come apart. The glass is supported by 4 valves that come out. It's assembled by bolting the heads and cam carriers to the block then laying the glass on top, then carefully installing the intake, Not difficult and it will easily fit in a SUV depending on the hatch opening as the glass can be a problematic. It easily fits in the back of my Touareg. Just bring a lot of packing blankets.

I assume the top just fits over the top of the intake correct?
How is the top attached to the block?
How much does the top weigh and the block? The total weight is 250 pounds according to the listing.
I am local and could pick it up in person. Would there be someone to help me lift it up into my SUV when I picked it up?
Thanks,
