Available for auction is a fully refurbished 2.7-liter flat-six engine from a 1974 Porsche 911, representing a pivotal era in Porsche engineering with its robust air-cooled design. This meticulously rebuilt, horizontally-opposed engine features a magnesium crankcase, aluminum pistons, forged steel connecting rods, and a forged seven-bearing crankshaft, all operating within a dry-sump lubrication system complete with an external oil tank and scavenge pump. It retains its original SOHC camshaft setup, chain-driven with updated mechanical tensioners, and aluminum cylinder heads with hemispherical combustion chambers. 
Fuel delivery is handled by Webber carburetor, while ignition is managed via a single distributor with mechanical and vacuum advance, feeding spark to all six cylinders through a 12V coil and fresh ignition components. The engine also includes its signature engine-mounted cooling fan, finned cylinders and heads, and full air shrouding to ensure optimal air-cooled performance. 
Complemented by heat exchanger-style exhaust manifolds and a period-correct muffler, this fully rebuilt powerplant is an exceptional offering for enthusiasts seeking authenticity, reliability, and classic Porsche performance. The seller states that the fully restored engine is plug and play and is ready for installation.
