Available for auction is a truly one-off piece of Porsche's advertising history. This sign was originally hanging and displayed inside a European Porsche dealership and was never made available to the public. The sign depicts a beautiful scene of a 911 cabriolet with a full moon in the distance.
The sign measures roughly 14 feet wide and 4 feet tall and is assembled in 4 individual panels. Each panel has holes to allow for the sign to be suspended. The sign is made from very strong signage material of its day. Truly nostalgic, immensely rare, and very captivating. I just wanted to let you know that I intend on sending this special sign with the tariffs paid in advance.
There will still be a small fee for brokerage charges and administrative costs, but these are not likely to exceed $100 as an over-estimated price.

The duties that are set all depend on the declared insurance value at the point of booking the signs on with FedEx.
I know each state is different with regards to taxes but it really depends what value is noted.

It is a very interesting piece indeed, and rather rare.
The absolute safest way to ship this item would be to commission a bespoke wooden shipping crate. It would be tailored to the size of the panels with each panel stacked safely inside with individual protective sheets. It would then be advised to send via FedEx and using there pallet delivery service which is door-to-door (business and residential). Additionally if we were to use the ‘last minute rate’ the cost would be the most competitive available.
The crate would cost around $300 and the FedEx shipping would be estimated around $600.
Alternatively, I could purchase a sheet of plasterboard that would be just a little larger than the sign and screw all four panels into it. I would then potentially purchase a thinner piece to go over the front (sandwiched together effectively) and then shrink wrap everything.
In this scenario perhaps $100 for materials and the shipping with FedEx would be less as a result (by how much exactly I am not sure).

Really interesting piece. How would you package and ship this in such a way as to protect the facade(s) considering that even if all "stacked" together, you're talking about a package that's at least 4'x4' and maybe 6" thick? I'm outside of Chicago. What would shipping realistically be and what duties do you expect? Thanks
