Built by Wide Open Design in 2015, this off-road race vehicle features a fully CAD-designed and TIG-welded 4130 chromoly chassis finished in Ferrari’s iconic Rosso Corsa shade. It has competed in King of the Hammers three times and the Vegas to Reno race twice, placing either first or second in each event. Remaining under the same family ownership since new, it is equipped with a Mast Motorsports engine, Culhane Racing TH400 transmission, Atlas transfer case, long-travel suspension, and heavy-duty Rockwell axles. With a build cost reportedly exceeding $250k, this purpose-built machine is now being offered for auction by the selling dealer out of Georgia.
The fully TIG-welded chromoly chassis is fitted with custom body panels finished in Rosso Corsa from Ferrari’s paint collection. Equipment includes an HID light bar, a Warn 9.0 RC/9,000-lb winch, Walker Evans wheels with BFGoodrich tires, a matching rear-mounted spare tire, and Branik Motorsports aluminum links. The seller notes the panels show scuffs, scratches, and chips from competition use. Additional body panels and an extra set of wheels with tires will accompany the sale. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cockpit is outfitted with Twisted Stitch bucket seats paired with Crow Safety Gear five-point racing harnesses. Equipment includes an air mask system, headset plug-ins, dual GPS units with a Lowrance setup, AutoMeter gauges, and a CNC brake pedal assembly.
Power comes from a Mast Motorsports 416ci V8 with a fully forged rotating assembly, Mass Motorsports EFI system, and a supercharger. It is paired with a 4-speed Culhane Racing TH400 automatic transmission and an Atlas transfer case with HD gears. Suspension consists of a custom 4-link setup front and rear with King bypass shocks, Fox coilovers, Currie sway bars, and aluminum links. The vehicle uses Rockwell 2 ½-ton axles with Ouverson axleshafts, spools, Violator U-joints, Cone Industries spindles and hubs, Crane knuckles, and Strange nodular third members with 10” ring and pinions. Additional components include Griffin cooling equipment, PSC front-wheel steering with a double-ended ram, and driveline assemblies from High Angle and JE Reel.
This vehicle is offered with a bill of sale, additional body panels, two sets of wheels & tires, two drive shafts, extra brace supports, filters, and miscellaneous parts.
The seller would like you to know: “The vehicle was raced in KOH 3 times and did the Vegas to Reno race twice. Always placed either first or second. The panels are painted in Ferrari Rosa Corsa Red. The estimated cost to build this vehicle is over $250k by Wide Open Design.”

@ACaddict... I went and confirmed there are not any steering knuckles on the rear axle. The PSC double ended ram is on the front only. I will get that corrected by @PCarmarket.
@ACaddict…our description was from the original build and we believe to fully accurate. I will fully confirm specifically for you.
Please confirm the statement “ PSC four-wheel steering with a double-ended ram”. I do not see rear knuckles.
