Built by HSR Motorsports to PCA Club Racing GTB1 specifications, this 2006 Porsche 987 Cayman S is a purpose-built race car. Finished in iconic Coca-Cola livery, the vehicle is equipped with a full roll cage, FIA-compliant safety equipment, race-tuned engine enhancements, upgraded lubrication and cooling systems, a precise short-throw shifter, a Guard Pro limited-slip differential, and additional performance modifications. Prepared to compete at the PCA GTB1 level or for high-performance track use, this Cayman has been meticulously maintained since its acquisition by the current seller from Smith MotorWorks in Florida approximately three years ago. It is now being offered for auction out of North Carolina. Click here to view the previous PCARMARKET listing.
Finished in Guards Red with Coca-Cola livery, this Cayman S features a GT3-style front bumper, a custom rear decklid with integrated ducktail, and a custom rear wing. Additional exterior details include hood pins, a front tow hook, and a 997 center radiator conversion. It rides on 18” Apex lightweight race wheels mounted with older Hoosier R7 tires. The sale includes three additional sets of wheels and tires, consisting of one original set and two aftermarket sets, all of which will require new tires. Minor cosmetic wear is noted, and detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The interior has been stripped for weight reduction and configured for dedicated track use. A Sparco racing seat is fitted for the driver and a Recaro seat for the passenger, both secured with Schroth racing harnesses. Equipment includes a MoTeC digital display, an aluminum center console and shifter assembly, aluminum pedals, a red-painted full roll cage, and a fire suppression system. The seller notes the airbag warning is illuminated due to the removal of the airbags.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated, direct fuel-injected 3.4-liter flat-six engine featuring a GT3 82mm throttle body, IPD plenum, Fabspeed race intake, custom-built exhaust, GT3 Motorsports air-oil separator (AOS), and an oil pan extension kit with a deep sump oiling system for improved lubrication. A 6-speed manual gearbox is paired with a Neumerics S-111-NR-CS shifter, riser, and Cup cables, and delivers power to the rear wheels through an upgraded Guard Pro limited-slip differential. Additional performance upgrades include a 997 center radiator, an external oil cooler, an Accusump system, an underdrive power steering pulley, and a GSR electric power steering conversion.
This Cayman S race car is offered with a bill of sale, a TechArt front spoiler bumper in red-painted carbon fiber, and three additional sets of wheels and tires. One set consists of the original wheels, while the other two sets are aftermarket, equipped with racing slicks.
The seller would like you to know: “This 2006 Cayman S was professionally converted to a GTB1 race car and has been professionally maintained over its 14600 miles. This car runs excellently and is a lot of fun to drive. It is excellent for both weekend racers and club racers. The safety equipment will need to be inspected to ensure compliance with racing regulations. I am selling it because I am no longer able to attend driver's education events and want the car to go to someone who can enjoy it.”

Offer in the amount of $35,000
The reality here ( and high marks to seller for mentioning it) is the #4 plug isn’t just
darker….its burning oil and that cylinder is just gonna get worse.
I bid knowing I was gonna redo the motor over the winter. All due respect to seller for being honest.

@Quackbury @Quackbury, vynl. Car is red
Are the Coke graphics painted on? Or vinyl?
It's advertised as a track car so it would be very helpful to know how it has been modded / set up. GT3 throttle body, Tarrett links, etc

@r32fan @r32fan, I have a few of my first events with this carvon you tube under @deadlizardracing9497
Do you have a driving video?
@dgoldattorney @dgoldattorney, you are correct, it is port fuel injection.
Bid in the amount of $6,000
What engine is that with Direct Fuel Injection? The M96/M97 had Port Injection.
@Rmineo993 I am cheering for a handsome sale to a person who's always wanted to try driving on the track.
@JimHawkins @JimHawkins, thank you, Jim, for your comment. This is a great car and I would love to keep it. Unfortunately, I am no longer able to track it due to other obligations. I hate seeing it not being used for what it was built for.
I have a 2007 with a similar setup. It has 96k miles on it. Was a daily driver for a dentist / PCA Instructor and did a LOT of track time in HPDE and some group H racing. I have taken mine to the track 30+ times and taught two teenagers how to drive a manual with it. There is A LOT of life left in this car. I encourage you to be brave and bid to win this car, I take mine out to the twisty roads around me and it makes me think I didn't need that Ninja motorcycle after all...
@kaphengst works for me. Maybe it's your connection?
@jmroot @jmroot, it was not a demo test, just a chance for me to run it through the gears before buying it in 2022.
@ByardT @ByardT, I don't have that information. First owner drove it on the street and did track events. This was upto about 10k.
Cool video of the car on the dyno. Any chance you could share the dyno sheet?
One more- what is the mileage for street use vs track of the 14k shown?
The link to the previous PCARMARKET listing does not work.
@ByardT @ByardT, no oil leaks.
@ByardT @ByardT, I had it inspected for bore scoring. The pictures attached are from cylinder 4, which was the only cylinder to show any signs of bore scoring. The leak down was 4% for that cylinder and all other cylinders were 2%. The sparkplug in cylinder 4 showed some signs of oil burning. Picture included as well.
Bid in the amount of $5,000
Has there been a PPI completed on the car? Most interested in compression and bore scoring . Any oil leaks/ usage?
@ByardT , last driving event was a little over a year ago. I run it monthly, but not on the track.
When was the car last driven?
