Offered as a limited-edition model with 2,000 examples produced for the 2006 model year, the Mini John Cooper Works GP is the last variant of the MkI Mini Cooper. It was hand-finished by Bertone in Italy and features a lightweight track-focused design with a special aerodynamics package, reduced sound deadening, bolstered Recaro bucket seats, sport-tuned suspension, and a 215-horsepower supercharged 1.6-liter engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Designated as #1,456, this example was originally sold in California and was purchased by the seller from a Mini specialist in 2022. It benefits from recent services, including a new battery, tires, and brakes. Showing approximately 33k miles on the odometer, this rare Mini Cooper S JCW GP is now being offered for auction out of New Jersey.
Assembled by Bertone in Italy, the John Cooper Works GP was finished exclusively in Thunder Blue with contrasting red mirror caps and silver paint on the roof. Compared to a standard Mini Cooper S, it features a unique aerodynamics package, including widened sill extensions, an aggressive front valence and rear apron, and a carbon fiber roof spoiler. This example had its wheel arches, front spoiler, and side skirts painted to match the bodywork under previous ownership. The car has been fitted with a Mini Sport antenna and rear fog light. Red brake calipers are mounted behind replacement OEM 18” light alloy wheels with new Yokohama Advan V701 tires mounted within the last 500 miles. The original wheels are included in the sale. The seller notes some rock chips on the front bumper cover and leading edge of the hood, along with minor dings near the upper right rear quarter panel. A slight crack is also indicated at the upper right windshield. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Mini JCW GP came without rear seats and features reduced sound-deadening material, which helps to save approximately 88 lbs. compared to a standard Cooper S. This example is equipped with bolstered Recaro sport seats trimmed in black and grey leather with cloth inserts and contrasting red stitching. Amenities include air conditioning, power windows, heated seats, an onboard computer, a column-mounted tachometer, and an AM/FM/CD stereo. Aftermarket LED cabin lighting was installed by a previous owner, although the rear hatch light is missing. The seller adds that a set of rare checkered front floor mats is included along with a full set of rubber mats.
Rated at 215 HP, the Mini JCW GP’s supercharged 1.6-liter inline-four engine features a revised Eaton supercharger and intercooler, a high-flow intake and exhaust, larger fuel injectors, and recalibrated ECU programming. It drives the front wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car features a factory sport-tuned suspension and braking system, and it has been upgraded with M7 front strut tower supports and an adjustable Hotchkis rear sway bar. The seller notes it has been serviced at a local Mini dealer, and all maintenance is up to date, including a recent oil change, coolant flush, filter replacements, new O2 sensors, ignition coils, spark plugs, crank sensor O-ring, battery, and power steering line. The front and rear brake pads and rotors were also replaced within the last 500 miles. An open recall is in effect for a front safety mat.
This sale will include the original wheels, a new front spoiler, miscellaneous parts, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a tire inflator, a car cover, and a clean title.

Had one of these and it’s an all time favorite. Always looking for one. This one looks great, just a shame the fenders were painted and weren’t left as original.
