The first-generation Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class (C219) was introduced in 2004 as a sporty and luxurious four-door fastback coupe based on the contemporary E-Class platform. Sitting at the top of the original model range, the CLS55 AMG variant features a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine, a 5-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission, Airmatic air suspension, an AMG sport exhaust, an AMG high-performance braking system, AMG Aerodynamic Bodywork, 19” AMG five-spoke alloy wheels, and AMG sport seats. This 2006 example was sold new in Illinois and moved to Florida in 2012, where it was purchased by the current owner in late 2024. It comes finished in Black over Ash grey leather upholstery and equipped with optional heated and ventilated Dynamic front seats, a rear window shade, COMAND navigation, and a Harman/Kardon Logic 7 Surround Sound System. Dealer-maintained since new and treated to extensive recent services totaling over $18k, this CLS55 AMG is now being auctioned out of New York with just over 39k miles showing on the odometer.

Finished in Black (040), the exterior features AMG Aerodynamic Bodywork including a unique front fascia, rear valence, side skirts, and a trunk lid spoiler. The car is equipped with chrome window trim and door handles, “V8 Kompressor” fender badges, fog lights, blue-tinted glass, heated power mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, a glass sunroof, chrome AMG quad exhaust tips, silver AMG-branded brake calipers, and 19” AMG five-spoke alloy wheels. The seller notes that new Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season tires were installed at 37k miles, and the paint remains in excellent original condition with some minor cosmetic imperfections. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin features Ash grey leather upholstery, an Alcantara headliner, and matte burl walnut wood trim. Accessories include optional heated and ventilated Dynamic AMG front sport seats, an AMG sport steering wheel with shift buttons, a power-adjustable steering column, AMG-branded door sills, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, four-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, an electric rear window shade, COMAND navigation, and a Harman/Kardon Logic 7 Surround Sound System. All electronics and accessories are said to be fully functional.

Hand-built by AMG, the supercharged and intercooled 5.4-liter M113 V8 engine was factory-rated at 469 HP and 516 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission. Compared to other CLS-Class models, the CLS55 AMG features stiffer Airmatic Dual Control air suspension, an AMG sport exhaust, and an AMG high-performance braking system with cross-drilled discs and 8-piston front brake calipers from the SL55 AMG. The seller indicates this car has been maintained by authorized Mercedes-Benz dealers from new and benefits from over $18k worth of service performed in the last 9k miles. The work included new front struts and rear air suspension bags, a new alternator, fuel pump, valve cover gaskets, an SBC bump, power steering fluid flush, a new windshield washer motor, and two new batteries. Within the last 1k miles, the car received an oil and filter change, a transmission service, a brake fluid flush, a new crankshaft position sensor, and a sway bar link ball joint.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a tire inflator, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This is a low mileage, original paint, unmodified, and properly maintained CLS 55. Two senior owners in the same family before me, I bought it in late 2024 and have put about 350 miles since. Mercedes dealer serviced since new - $18k worth of service work in the last 9k miles. The above make this a unique example of a rare automobile.”

Black hammer....thanks for your comments. As a previous owner of an E55 I am familiar with these cars...and regardless of the condition (which I agree is excellent) the market dictates the price....this car is approaching it's 20th birthday...so far there has been a LOT of work on a low mileage car...why?....one would have to buy a warranty ($6k?) ...that plus the buyers fee makes it about a mid $20k investment...about the reserve price. Just an FYI to seller....I am a cash buyer...wire transfer no issue.Respectfully, DRVOFI.

@Blackhammer - thank you for your comment and wishes - you well informed on the reality in the 113K world.

    My thoughts:

Considering all the facts on this car - condition, mileage, service history, type and number of owners the price is actually quite reasonable. The availability of high quality, good mileage e55 and cls55 cars is low to start with and cls 55's are considerably rarer than e55's - more importantly much better to drive in my experience.

In addition, they are finally experiencing a well-deserved increase in appreciation and value from the enthusiast community as they represent phenomenal value, performance and reliability - a trend that will likely continue as time goes on.

There is no other high-performance German sedan you can buy today in the mid 20's that gives what these cars do that will most likely hold its value and even appreciate going forward.

With the above said I do appreciate everyone's interest and offers.

    Seller,
Awesome car with fantastic service and ownership history. I know these cars very, very, very well. I have seen dealers ask $50K plus for low mile examples of 113K CLS55 and E55's.

The car is priced very reasonable. Anyone who considers $19,000 a "fair bid":
    - Doesn't know what they are looking at
    - Is not familiar with the value of these vehicles and what they sell for (100K + mile, modified, abused, non-service, with accident history sell examples for $19K)
    - Is trying to steal the car
    - Don't have the $ to buy it
    - Or, some combination of all of the above
    Good luck with the sale!

Seller...we have all done it...keep throwing money into a cat that will never recoup our investment.I had a Ferrari that I held for 8 years...poured as much into it as what I bought if for....barley broke even. It happens...so here is what I consider is a very fair bid.
    Best of luck.

    @Chuck246cp - appreciate your comment.

The 55 Kompressor cars offer an exceptional combination of value, performance and reliability that has been unmatched by any of the AMG products that followed and the 05-06 cars are the most desirable as they have multiple enhancements over the earlier models.

Also, the CLS 55 is a one-year model for North America and only 2765 were imported.

With the above said, I am a long time MB enthusiast and have owned multiple models with the M113K engine, including daily driving a W211 E55 for close to 60k miles. Based on my experience the CLS 55 is the rarest of all and the best sedan to drive.

I have/have hadan identical car for eight years. It now has 80,000 miles. It's reliability and longevity are stunning.
I've had almost no problems since purchase. Also, the car simply "works". It is ergonomically great, goes like a rocket and I still love it's styling. The black paint is still good, although I keep the car garaged. Have some other "high end" cars and the AMG fits right in. Chuck G
