Developed as a street-legal purebred race car, the original GT3 RS offered extensive lightweight technology along with a track-focused cockpit, refined suspension, and additional aerodynamic features. Never officially sold in North America, it is regarded among the most sought-after water-cooled Porsches ever produced. One of a mere 682 units produced in total, this 2004 example is presented in Carrara White with Red accents. Previously sold here on PCARMARKET, this GT3 RS is now being offered for auction out of California with approximately 40k miles on the odometer.
A development of the standard 996.2 GT3, the RS version was optimized with a front chin spoiler and additional air vents for the radiator in the nose as well as a larger carbon fiber rear wing and a ram-air intake on the engine lid. Weight reduction was achieved with carbon fiber mirrors, a polycarbonate rear window, and a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic bonnet. Each came standard in Carrara White with a choice of Red or Blue graphics and matching wheel centers inspired by the original Carrera RS of the early 1970s. This example features Red contrasts along with red-finished brake calipers and 18” GT3 wheels. The seller notes previous paintwork on the front valance and left side of the car, the front splitter was replaced, and minor imperfections are shown in the gallery.
Inside, the lightweight and driver-focused cockpit is fitted with a Carrara White painted roll cage and leather-edged floor mats with Porsche script. The GT3 RS features cloth fixed-back Recaro bucket seats as standard factory equipment as well as a 6-point driver’s safety harness, a fire extinguisher, and Alcantara trim covering the steering wheel, shift knob, and handbrake lever. This example was further optioned with automatic climate control, an activated charcoal filter, and a top-tinted windscreen.
The GT3 RS shares the same naturally aspirated 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine as the standard GT3 with revised intake and exhaust ports for race homologation. A factory-claimed output of 381 HP is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The GT3 RS features a unique suspension with progressive springs, stiffer dampers, adjustable control arms, and redesigned wheel carriers. Stopping power is provided by six-piston front and four-piston rear brake calipers with cross-drilled rotors.
This sale will include the original owner’s manuals, a toolkit, and a car cover.

This thing is awesome!! Love the simplicity of it all. Have been in a well driven one around a track and these things absolutely fly! Need to know how to properly drive though

@Integrity Correct. Proper paperwork will be presented to the next owner.
@Seller Can you confirm this was imported under Show and Display? Do you have documentation / paperwork for Show and Display that you can post?
@Daman410 We did not do a leak down test.
@guitarnyc Thanks for the question. I am not sure on that.
@MiamiGT3 Thanks for the question. Yes the few small bubbles we were told its natural due to the material the hood is made of.
@miamiGT3 I would advise a cup splitter, they can be bought in Europe and have a full angle
📐 along the entire bumper, the ride height for aprons and things makes a splitter necessary every 24 months unless your driving Mrs Daisy 🌼
I know Joel owns a lot of the cars listed by Silver Arrow.
Who owns this car, Graham or Joel?

@daman410 you don’t do a leak down on a Mezger RS. Manthey became infamous for simply raising the redline of the mk1 mezger by 800 rpm. These engines are capable of revving much higher in cup applications. And they’re designed for track. They have all been on track. If you’re fishing for one that isn’t you need one with delivery mileage.

Do you have current leak down test results and all the service records? 41.000 potential track miles is a lot of hard driving. Thank you.
Was the emblem on the rear sear delete area replaced with "RS"? On all of the 996 GT3RS I looked at when shopping for one, they all had "GT3" emblems. Maybe this was an option or some dealer option?
The front lip spoiler the buyer will need is part number 996-505-986-93-01C

@silverarrowcarsltd. Can you please comment on the missing black splitter that seems to appear on other vehicles? Thank you!

Do you have the original build sheet, list of options and MSRP for the car? Can this car be sold through an official porsche dealer as well ? Thank you

@MiamiGT3 as owners of a 996 GT3RS this was a known defect in the production of the carbon fiber hood. For some reason the paint porsche used had a weird reaction with the carbon hood and caused little bubbles. I think it adds character
Bid in the amount of $105,000
Hi. It appears the front splitter is missing. Can you confirm? Also I’ve read on previous sales of this vin that there was bubbling on the hood. Please confirm. Thx

@mxtr55 We are a dealer. We wish we could keep and drive them all ..... but we catch and release .
@ Seller - Why are you selling it after only driving it 200+ miles since you purchased?
Beautiful car. This one has steel rotors. The red calipers look much better on the red graphic cars. It does appear to be missing it's lower front spoiler though. The center console delete on the 996 is great on these. Cool to see this one that looks like it was optioned with a radio?
Any paint meter readings and DME report? Thanks

Happy 4th of July !!!! We made a listing error . This GT3RS is located in Newport Beach California 92660 . Sorry for the error. Please reach out with any questions.
@CapitalImports We made an error in the listing. This 2004 Porsche GT3RS CS is located in Newport Beach California 92660. We will have this fixed as soon as possible. Thanks and sorry about the listing error.
Considering this car was previously federalized and titled in the USA it should not be a major hassle to re import correct?
I have had the pleasure to drive two of these in Europe. Just completed a rally in Germany in a blue variant and they’re superb, the front end is so so light while the rear is planted giving the driver so much feedback. They’re an absolute hoot to drive. Whoever lands this will certainly enjoy smiles for miles
