Showcasing wide fenders, bumpers, and brakes from the 911 Turbo, the all-wheel-drive Porsche 911 Carrera 4S represents the pinnacle of the 996 Carrera model range. This 2004 Carrera 4S Cabriolet is finished in Black over a matching full leather interior and features a 6-speed manual transmission paired with its 3.6-liter flat-six engine. The car was sold new from Porsche Walnut Creek in California at an original sticker price of over $103k including the optional Sport Exhaust System, stainless-steel exhaust pipes, the Xenon Headlamp Package, Bose High-End Sound Package, heated front seats with lumbar support, a thicker leather steering wheel, aluminum instrument dials, and stainless-steel door sills with model insignias. This C4S Cabriolet is now being offered for auction out of New York with approximately 49k miles showing on the odometer.

The Carrera 4S features wider bodywork than a standard 996 Carrera, bumpers and side skirts from the 911 Turbo, and a model-specific reflector band that spans the taillights. This example is finished in Black with a matching power-operated convertible top. Equipment includes optional bi-xenon headlamps, heated power mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, optional quad stainless-steel exhaust tips, red brake calipers, and aftermarket 18” Kinesis multi-piece wheels. The seller states the exterior is in very good overall condition, and the car’s tires are new. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing minor front-end damage in 2018.

The cabin features Black full leather upholstery accented by optional aluminum instrument dials, aluminum inlays for the shifter and brake handle, and stainless-steel door sills with model insignias. Other equipment includes optional heated power front seats with adjustable lumbar support, a thicker three-spoke leather steering wheel, a sport exhaust button, automatic climate control, cruise control, a remote central locking system, an onboard computer, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and a Porsche CDR23 stereo.

A naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 320 HP and 273 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle. The Carrera 4S features uprated brakes from the 911 Turbo with fixed 4-piston calipers and 13” cross-drilled discs at each corner. Standard equipment includes Porsche Stability Management and an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD). This example also features the optional Sport Exhaust System. Service history shown on the CARFAX report includes a brake fluid flush, oil change, convertible top inspection, and ABS check at Porsche North Scottsdale in December 2023 at 48,227 miles.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “A very clean C4S with very low mileage.”

Absolutely agreed. Not just IMS but given it was a Michigan car I'd even want to have a bore scope done just to make sure with all the cold weather starts...

It seems there is no record of IMS replacement which means it needs to be done and final bid would take that into consideration. It is like performing a Clutch Job as far as labor and parts which will run about $3,500 at least in my area. And since the tranny is out, might as well do a clutch replacement and rear main seal

@jkikis Okay no worries. Are you the current owner or a dealer? From what I see it seems like it was a Michigan car for most of its life, as it was serviced in Ann Arbor up to around 33k miles, and then moved to scottsdale AZ in 2018. And then reconditioned in feb of this year. Could you pull info on what went into the reconditioning and how much needed to be done? As long as they're maintained and treated properly these cars are amazing, but if they're treated poorly can get expensive, so just want to get an idea of how she's been treated before bidding!

  • jkikis (seller) 1 week, 4 daysago

@PSP05 hi i couldnt find anything in the car but from looking at carfax service history car was serviced at porsche of scottsdale up until 48227

  • PSP05 (registered bidder) 1 week, 4 daysago

@jkikis I know it’s Memorial Day in the states but any chance we could get a look at maintenance docs today? Just that I’ve been burned on a 996 C4S exact same as this one with bore scoring, and the IMS is a valid concern. All of which goes away with known maintenance/service history. Thanks!!

@Woodrm64 hi I will check and see what there is tomorrow and whatever I find I will upload

Any update on @PSP05’s questions about history/maintenance docs/especially on status of IMS/RMS or bore scoring issues? This will be very important for any potential buyer to make a serious offer.
    Thank you.

  • PSP05 (registered bidder) 1 week, 6 daysago

Hey, do you have any of the cars history? Any/all maintenance docs would be helpful. What about its history? Mostly in CA or has it been in NY a while. Typical for any 996, has the IMS/RMS been done? Any signs of bore scoring? Super interested, any and all info would be greatly appreciated!!
