Finished in Guards Red over Brown Natural Leather upholstery, this 2003 Porsche 996 Turbo Coupe features a 6-speed manual transmission and the optional X50 Powerkit paired with its twin-turbocharged Mezger 3.6-liter flat-six engine. At an original sticker price of over $138k, it also came factory-equipped with optional supple leather front and rear seats, stainless-steel tailpipes, aluminum instrument dials, and Natural Brown floor mats. Showing approximately 21k miles on the odometer, this X50-equipped Turbo Coupe is now being offered for auction out of Pennsylvania.
The exterior is finished in Guards Red and features wide Turbo-specific bodywork with side air intakes. Equipment includes bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, heated power mirrors, a front spoiler, an electric sunroof, a rear window wiper, a speed-activated rear spoiler, optional stainless-steel quad exhaust tips, red brake calipers, and 18” 911 Turbo wheels. Four new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires were installed in April 2023. The seller notes the driver’s quarter panel was refinished, and the CARFAX report shows minor damage to that area in 2018. The exterior is said to be in very good overall condition with clear paint protection film applied over the front bumper and forward portions of the hood and fenders. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features premium Brown Natural Leather upholstery with matching carpets, floor mats, optional supple leather seats, and an Alcantara headliner. Accessories include power-adjustable seats with driver memory, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, optional aluminum instrument dials, automatic climate control, cruise control, a central locking system, an onboard computer, a Bose sound system, and a Porsche CDR23 stereo.
This car is optioned with the X50 Turbo Powerkit, which adds larger K24 turbochargers and intercoolers, ECU tuning, and a revised exhaust to the 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine for an output of 450 HP and 457 lb-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven through a desirable 6-speed manual transmission. A major service was completed in May 2021, including new cam housing gaskets, ignition coils, a new low-tone horn, cabin air filter, and an oil change. A Pennsylvania state inspection was passed in April 2025, and the seller states a fresh oil and filter service will be performed for the next owner.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, a tire inflator, and a clean title (lien).
The seller would like you to know: “This unusually spec'd, 996 Turbo X50 is a time capsule in every way. From the exterior, through the interior, the car represents as nicely as any 996 we have come across, and we have been very lucky to have some extremely nice examples pass through our doors. From a driving perspective, the car operates as intended. The clutch is easy to press, and the transmission goes through all gears as smoothly as it did when new.”

I have what I believe is the same interior in my 2002 non-X50 turbo, and it's gorgeous!
Hello All,
Thank you to all who have viewed and participated in this auction so far. I hope you can sense how proud of this car we are! There is no doubt that the future owner will be just as excited about it as we are. It is a wonderful example in every way. If you have any questions, please get them in. I hope the PCar community feels we have given as much information as possible as to answer most questions in the auction, photos, and videos themselves! Good luck to all who bid!
@Brian_Spilner Thanks for the kind words @Brian_Spilner!
@udrive Thank you.
If you have ever wanted an 996 Turbo, this is the one to buy. X50 kit, Guards Red over Brown leather, 6-Speed, low miles, etc. Doesn't get much better than this.
@Outlogged Thank you!
@GT3forme No, they have not.
@shamansky It is undetectable to the eye. It was completed to a very high level.
Gorgeous Turbo. Have the coolant lines been done?
How would you describe the paintwork on the driver side? Any idea what body work was performed? Absolutely gorgeous Turbo. I leased this exact configuration and silver over black in 2003 input 50,000 troubles free miles on it. Phenomenal vehicle in all respects. Currently own a triple black '04 cab turbo with a tiptronic. Eager to replace my former car.
@frog4life you can look at every single 996 turbo and they all have this on the bottom of the cars unless they've been dry ice cleaned....all of them...dealers never removed it all and every single one was delivered that way...its protected the underside for 20+ years now!
Beautiful Turbo and honest, transparent presentation.
Guards Red on the 996 Turbo really pops!
@lasaro7 yes the bumper plugs are in guard red.
@lasaro7 yes a road test is part of their inspection process.
Did Leading Edge drive the car as part of their inspection?
Are those plugs that fill front license plate holes? Painted guards red?
Bid in the amount of $80,000
@Deep_Six As the current owner of the car, I deeply appreciate your comments. Thank you. To everyone viewing, thank you very much. I adore this car, but I simply do not drive it enough. For the last 4 years it has sat in a climate controlled garage, only seeing sunshine a handful of times per month. I religiously warmed it up gently, and never started it unless I was going to put 15+ miles on it. In the words of Jay Leno “I never drive it if I have to be somewhere”. Whenever I walked into my garage, I looked up at it on the lift and it put a huge smile on my face. I hope it finds a home with someone who loves it as much as I do. Happy to answer any questions anyone has. UDrive has been phenomenal at handling everything, I just want to be a part of the process as the auction comes to an end. Thank you.
@udrive: Agreed. Properly maintained this car will never lose value. And just try finding another one spec'd like this. I try my best to not look back with regrets on any car I've sold but this one is tough not to miss seeing in the garage. I have some pictures from when I owned it that I'd be glad to share with the new owner if they'd like.
@Deep_Six excellent first source info. Thanks!
Hello @deep_six thanks for sharing that information. In regard to the price of these cars - as well as most 911’s - it always seems like they are expensive when one is buying, then a few years pass, and all of the sudden, it seems like a bargain. I explain to 1st time Porsche buyers all of the time that what looks like a premium today will look like a deal in the near future.
I was the second owner of this car. I bought it from the original owner in upstate NY in 2015 with just over 5000 miles. It was as new when I received it. Beautiful color combo and with the 6-speed and X50 kit something of a unicorn. Drove it from home in WY to Rennsport Reunion V and back that same year. What an awesome road car. I remember driving thru Nevada with the cruise set at 115 and the climate control set to 70 and it just ate the miles effortlessly. Only complaint at the time was the range of the fuel tank. 300 miles was a bit of a nail biter. The wheel incident happened to the first owner when it was basically brand new and he said that he was on a drive and hit a nail that punctured the sidewall and damaged the wheel enough that the dealer just replaced both. I sold it to my Bro-in-law in CA who was the third owner. Seems like he said the rear quarter repair was due to parking lot damage or something similarly minor and was done by top shop in the Bay Area. For reference I paid $62K for it in 2015 which was a pretty premium price back then. Part of me wishes I still had it but am glad I got to experience it while I did. Unique car for sure. New owner will adore it! Best of luck to all...
As a follow up to our post from yesterday, we have uploaded the inspection report and estimate for the 996 X50. Again, all items on the estimate will be taken care of before it is delivered to the new owner. The inspection states there is no rust or corrosion on the vehicle. P Car should add them to the gallery shortly. We hope this gives you even more confidence regarding the incredible condition of this car. Thank you.
Cannot believe owner is selling an early-Mezger (MY2003 no less) to keep a(ny) 997 Turbo. His loss is someone else's incalculable gain. Only 7K of these made worldwide in manual-coupe, and even less in X50! GLWA!!
Hello, We have had an inspection completed by a local 3rd party facility, Leading Edge Auto Sport. They have determined there is NO rust or corrosion on the vehicle. The original cosmoline is in place and dirt has stuck to it as it typically does. There are no oil leaks. There is a small amount of residual oil by the drain plug from some point over the years. They noted a seeping front left outer CV boot and recommended an oil service, new front and rear hood shocks. These items will be replaced before the new owner takes delivery of the vehicle.
@frog4life, I believe what you are referring to is cosmoline as it is present in the areas you mentioned. There is no corrosion. Photos of the inspection and estimate will be added to the photo gallery shortly. Thank you
@frog4life the suspension and frame will be part of any inspection. Happy to allow Ppi’s during the auction as well.
On the upper right portion of the fourth engine picture, it looks like there's corrosion on the sway bar and frame. Can you comment on that, and include that area in the inspection next week?
Hello @frog4life no current drips or leaks. The underside has not been dry iced. It is original down to the cosmoline and everything that sticks to it. We will post results of a current independent inspection next week.
Udrive, can you comment on what looks like oil caked on the bottom of the engine? Is there an oil leak, as was fairly common in the 996?
@Npbears Wow! That’s very low. Was it a manual. Did you see the one we sold recently with over 30k miles? Sorry to be the bearer of bad news
Bid in the amount of $75,000
Also I had a problem with the ABS system OEM parts are unavailable and about 8K I had it rebuilt at Berg Performance and stillest about 4K
Just sold a 04 X50 with 13,000 MINT for $80,000 FYU
@Poodie Thank you! It really is a remarkable example
@Ravenna45 sticky buttons is a 997 problem, in my experience. 996 buttons are hard plastic.
@monsoon725 The first indicated the need to repair 1 wheel. It occurred in 2003.That is the info we have. The other was in 2018 and the CF does not have a description on the CF. However, we have indicated that.the driver quarter was repainted. There is no indication of the rear bumper being repainted.
No sticky buttons. Yes there is clear film as noted in the description. There was no accident listed. A damage report and accident are not the same and are recorded differently by Carfax. An example would be if you scratch your car accidentally in the garage and have it repaired by your insurance company / that is a damage report, not an accident. An accident involves a collision and usually involves a police report. Damage being reported to Carfax is fairly recent over the last several years.
That is all the info we have with that said we are happy to allow personal inspections or Ppi’s to be completed. Thank you.
What a GORGEOUS car.
Forgot to ask if any switches or buttons have turned sticky?
Thank you for the walk-around, quite helpful. I'm curious if the rear bumper was off and repainted along with the driver's 1/4 panel. Do we know if the driver's rear wheel was damaged or replaced after the accident? Are there any records available from the body shop when the work was done? Is there paint protection on the front of the car? What do we know about the first incident with wheel damage?
Do you know what the extent of the damage was listed on carfax? Seems like there were two incidents if I recall.
Here is some info on recent service history. The service in 2021 was completed during the first time we had the car in 2021.

Hello, thank you for taking a look at this incredible, 6-speed manual, 2003 Porsche 996 Turbo X50 Coupe!
This is the 2nd time we have been lucky enough to have the car with us. The first time was in 2021 when we sold it to a local car enthusiast who has since added a 997S and a 997 Turbo to his growing collection of P Cars. We are very excited to have it with us once again. We will be here to answer questions throughout the auction, and we are happy to show the car to anyone who would like to come and view it in our showroom. Thank you and good luck to all who participate in the auction.
