The 996 represented a significant step in Porsche's transition from analog to digital technology, introducing a modernized interior design, advanced electronics, and improved comfort and convenience options. This 2003 Porsche 996 Carrera Cabriolet is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over Graphite Grey leather upholstery and features a Tiptronic S transmission, 18” Light Alloy Carrera wheels, the Power Seat Package, the Bose High End Sound Package, the Aluminum/Chrome Package, and more. Showing less than 88k miles on the odometer, this example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of North Carolina.
This Carrera was ordered in Arctic Silver Metallic with a Metropol Blue convertible soft top. Exclusive stainless-steel tailpipes are included with the Aluminum/Chrome Package, and the optional 18” Light Alloy Carrera wheels come wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza tires. Other equipment includes a speed-activated rear spoiler, black brake calipers with white Porsche lettering, and custom clear side marker lenses. The seller notes a few small imperfections, including a small dent on the passenger’s side door. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report noting minor damage in May 2021.
The cabin presents Graphite Grey standard leather upholstery. Aluminum-look instrument dials are included as part of the Aluminum/Chrome Package, and other options include the Power Seat Package, front seat lumbar support, the Bose High End Sound Package, and interior-colored floor mats. An upgraded Kenwood head unit has been fitted, and the front seat heating is currently inoperable. All other accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order.
The naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine is factory-rated at 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission with a manual shifting mode, and stopping power comes from fixed 4-piston ventilated disc brakes. The seller adds that leaks have been addressed, and new shocks have been installed at all four corners.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. I have owned this car for over two years and store it in a protected carport. All maintenance is up-to-date. The car is completely stock with a brand-new set of tires on the rear installed last year.”

@Backmarker the shifting is very smooth. If you are still interested I can get a driving video together.

@yona101 Regarding the IMSB and what your Certified Porsche Mechanic said, if it was me, respectfully, I would find a new mechanic. Even any replacement IMSB has a shelf life. Does your mechanic do any oil analysis or cut open the filters after each oil change?
Waiting for an answer to someone's question on the transmission and it smoothness through the gears in leu of a sound video. Thanks.

Thanks for the quick responses. To clarify, I was asking that if you add a driving video, it would be informative if for a portion of it, there were shots of the tachometer as the car automatically up-shifted and down—shifted. In lieu of that, are the shifts smooth and (other than the exhaust note changes) quiet?
@Backmarker No leaks after being driven. I don’t know what you mean by seeing revs in auto. She idles but no revs. As for up and down shifting, only in drive.
@Backmarker I do have the service record where they fixed the leak. Is that what you’re looking for?
Do you have a copy of the report from the last service which “checked” the transmission leak. Any current leaks after being driven. Driving video showing revs when in auto mode ans sounds of up and down shifts?

@bornonjuly4 I took it to my certified Porsche mechanic and he advised that since it hadn’t gone bad by now it wasn’t one of the affected bearings. He said to leave it alone.
Mandatory question on 996's :-) - Was the IMS bearing replaced?
Hello buyers, I appreciate your taking the time to look at my good example of a 2003 996. I just discovered that the speakers need to be replaced. That is the only standing issue. I enjoyed the engine and exhaust music so much; I never listened to the radio.
