One of the most celebrated sports sedans of all time, the E39-generation BMW M5 is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission connected to a 4.9-liter S62 V8 engine featuring individual throttle bodies and double-VANOS variable valve timing. Finished in Black over matching leather upholstery, this 2003 example has been modified with an Area-51 Motorsports supercharger, Dinan suspension components, and a Remus muffler. Stored inside a climate-controlled facility, this meticulously maintained M5 is now being offered for auction out of New York with approximately 64k miles showing on the odometer and an additional set of BBS-manufactured 19" Dinan wheels.
Compared to the standard E39 5-Series, the M5 version presents more aggressive bumpers and side skirts, aerodynamic mirrors, a trunk lid spoiler, and Shadowline trim. Additional features include xenon headlights with washers, fog lights, and M5 designations along the trunk lid and side moldings. This example is finished in Black and rides on factory 18” M double-spoke wheels. An additional set of staggered-width 19” Dinan wheels manufactured by BBS will accompany the sale. The seller describes the exterior as being in near-excellent condition with only minor, hardly noticeable imperfections. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, the driver is greeted with Black leather upholstery complemented by Fine Wood Trim. Details include an M-branded gear shift lever, an M Sport multifunction leather-wrapped steering wheel, M-branded gauges, and M5-branded door sills. Amenities consist of power-adjustable and heated front seats with memory, automatic climate control, and an electric sunroof. Dinan-branded floor mats are also equipped. The seller highlights the suppleness of the leather and notes the door panels and interior surfaces remain in very good condition.
Featuring individual throttle bodies and double-VANOS variable valve timing, the 4.9-liter S62 V8 engine has been modified with an Area-51 Motorsports supercharger. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission upgraded with a Stage 2 clutch setup. Additional upgrades include a Dinan front strut brace, Dinan lowering springs, Dinan high-performance Koni struts, a Dinan adjustable rear sway bar, and Remus mufflers.
This sale will include a clean title, a toolkit, a car cover, and a set of staggered-width 19” Dinan wheels manufactured by BBS.

The market has spoken. With all due respect, $70,000 is incomprehensible.
didn't have chance to contact seller, but will look for it in marketplace . thanks.
@FSAR the give highest bidder first right of refusal. If doesn't work out it will be in marketplace
let me know if it doesn't sell to highest bidder.
@FSAR For the past 15 years.
@Wassergekuhlt do you know the owner/history ?
@FSAR just fastidious ownership of several cars that get serviced yearly no matter the use.
It will be freshly serviced for a winning bidder.

So in California is all the smog monitors are green and the smog technician ignores the fact that is has a super charger then essentially the car will pass
@Savagem5 Yes - you would know better than I and that’s how it’s been explained to me as well.
@Pochesq technically it should equipment and OBD-II wise but they’ll flag it due to the SC system not being carb compliant.
If that's the case, it will probably not pass Colorado smog either as we have stupidly adapted a lot of CA emission protocols. But I wouldn't know for sure without looking deep into it.
As a California smog technician this will not pass smog it has to be an ESS SUPERCHARGER
Will this car pass CA smog? Thanks.
Tons of private messages with great questions. We’ve been very transparent with every aspect of this wonderful M5 with the hopes that it’ll end up with a fellow enthusiast. Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions as a comment or send a message if greater detail is required. Thank you all for the continued interest.
This one is a beaut! Extremely well executed SC install! LOVE the RK kit. Nothing looks better IMO. This car would seriously benefit from some high flow headers and catalytic converters....with proper tune! Best of luck with the sale.......this is a GEM!!!

@z28plus Hello. We are checking all records to see if it’s anywhere. Will upload it to the gallery if it’s located.
Thanks, Window Sticker?
@z28plus Photos of the additional wheels have been added to the listing gallery.
@AkamiNW I’ll coordinate that and have the video uploaded by tomorrow.
@Savagem5 Hello. There is absolutely No rust in the unibody or on the undercarriage.
If there’s an area of concern please let me know and I’ll have detailed photos taken and uploaded.
@z28plus Hello. I’ll have photos of the wheels uploaded.
The PPF is on the leading edge of the hood and fenders.
@Savagem5 We probably know each other from M5Board lol (JCM55555)
Could you confirm there is no rust on the undercarriage ?
@AkamiNW agreed also had one with same setup and was prefect
Also, do you have the original window sticker?
Where is all the PPF located on the car? Do you have pics of the included wheels?
Is there any chance you could post a video of a harder launch and pull through the gears to show there's no clutch slip?
@Carman2653 for reference, I had the same stage 1 kit from RK on mine, with SS headers as well, it did 501 RWHP and 425ft lbs torque on the dyno.
600hp referenced by the seller would be at the crank.
It's a perfect amount of power for this car, feels amazing with the SC.
@AkamiNW Area-51 fortified the brackets and flashed the ecu. Installation was handled locally.
@Wassergekuhlt thanks. It's definitely an RK Autowerks supercharger, but are you saying you purchased through A51 Motorsports? Did they do the installation and tuning?
@Wassergekuhlt Thanks. Any info on the paint readings? Are you aware of any previous damage?
@AkamiNW the system was a culmination of best-of-best with key pieces (flash, brackets etc) being Area-51 sourced.
Isn't this an RK Autowerks SC kit? Please explain the reference to Area 51.
@woodcrestjoe Hello. The requested photos have been uploaded to the gallery.
Thank you for the interest.
@luis.seneriz Two additional videos have been uploaded to the listing.
Hello! Great car! Can you provide a closeup photo of the gas cap area with the Fuel door open?
@Savagem5 Hello. There are several underside photos in the gallery but I can get detailed images of any particular area. Just let me know what you’d like to focus on and I’ll have them uploaded to the gallery.
Could you get good pictures of the undercarriage ? On a service lift?
@luis.seneriz Hello. I’ll have a video shot and uploaded on Monday. Thank you for the bid and request.
@Wassergekuhlt Thank you.
Could you do a driving video inside the car, with everything up to temperature going thru all the gears? Thanks
Bid in the amount of $7,911
@Carman2653 Hello. Answered below. Thank you for the question.
@zollerm Hello. Mathematically it’s supposed to make just under 600 Hp and just over 600 ft/lb of torque. It wasn’t built to brag or abuse so we never put it on a dyno. Pulls like mad though and it’ll break the rear loose on demand.
What is the total horsepower with the modification? It was 394 hp with the standard engine. Thanks.
Bid in the amount of $6,666
Beautiful. GLWTA
Horsepower? Thanks.
