The 2002 model year saw a significant update for the 996 generation Porsche 911, including revised styling and a larger, more powerful 3.6-liter flat-six engine as standard. This 2002 Porsche 996 Carrera Cabriolet is finished in Back over a matching partial leather interior. It comes equipped with an optional 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission, the advanced Technic Package, Heated Front Seats Package, an upgraded stainless-steel exhaust system, a K&N air intake, red-painted brake calipers, 19” Carrera Classic wheels, and a touchscreen Pioneer head unit with Apple CarPlay. Acquired by the seller from its second owner, this 996 is now being offered for auction out of New York with approximately 85k miles showing on the odometer.
The exterior is finished in Black with a matching power-operated convertible soft-top. Equipment includes Litronic bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, heated power mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, dual exhaust outlets, clear side marker lights, red-painted brake calipers, and 997-generation 19” Carrera Classic wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. The seller describes the exterior to be in good overall condition given the car’s age and mileage, noting a few cosmetic imperfections and a small scratch on the driver’s side fender. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report that shows an accident with another vehicle in 2008.
The black partial leather interior features heated and power-adjustable front seats, a three-spoke leather steering wheel with Tiptronic shift buttons, and Carrera-logo door sills. Other accessories include a central locking system, automatic climate control, cruise control, an onboard computer, a Bose sound system, and a touchscreen Pioneer head unit with Apple CarPlay. Missing trim pieces on the steering wheel have been covered by tape, and some creasing can be seen on the driver’s seat.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine rated at 320 HP and 273 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic transaxle with a manual shifting mode. The engine has been modified with a stainless-steel exhaust system and a K&N air intake. The seller notes that the thermostat housing was repaired under their ownership, and there are no outstanding mechanical issues at this time.
This sale will include a window sticker, a tire inflator, a car cover, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Great driver, plenty of power, very clean.”

Hey @Patsy911 sorry it’s just me. I ride tires <6 years of age. And again posting some records/receipts might help.
Tires are 90 percent, service was done a thousand miles ago , you do understand the car is 2002 and a tenth of the cost of a new one
Hey @Patsy911 I get it. Not speaking for any other bidder but for me, I see upfront costs (new tires, engine service, and IMS replacement) before I could fly-n-drive and some unknowns - you haven't posted any service records.
I need a little bit more money guys I have about 30 k invested in it

Thx @Patsy911 Do you know how and when Rennwerke made the IMS determination? Typically that would require some type of oil analysis. If available might be worth posting the report.
@Mithril911 Rennwerke checks everything out for me every year and says everything is fine. I asked about the ims and he said it’s perfectly fine
@Patsy911 V. nice color and presentation. Can you please confirm that the tire date codes are from 2016/2017. Also since I did not read it mentioned I presume the IMS bearing has not been replaced. Have the oil & filter ever been checked for metal?
It’s a little thin on a couple of small pieces but it was buffed with the real ceramic finish
I second that comment below. Paint looks great!
I normally don't comment, but this 02 Carrera is a beautiful Porsche. Paint looks fantastic.
