Finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Black leather interior, this 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera 4S Coupe was acquired by the seller from the original owner’s family in 2021. It was sold new from Jim Ellis Porsche of Atlanta, Georgia, and is equipped with a 3.6-liter flat-six engine, a 6-speed manual transaxle, optional Litronic xenon headlights, power-adjustable front seats, storage compartments in place of the rear seats, aluminum instrument dials, carbon fiber and aluminum shifter and handbrake trim, the Hi-Fi Sound Package, stainless-steel exhaust pipes, and upgraded Bilstein coilovers. Showing just over 42k miles on the odometer, this Carrera 4S is now being offered for auction out of Tennessee.
Compared to a standard 993 Carrera, the 4S variant features wide fenders, rockers, and bumpers from the contemporary 911 Turbo model. This example is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and rides on factory 18” Turbo-look wheels. Other equipment includes optional Litronic xenon headlights, headlamp washers, integrated fog lights, an electric sunroof, a speed-activated rear spoiler, optional stainless-steel dual exhaust tips, and red Porsche-branded brake calipers. The CARFAX report shows minor damage to the rear end in 1997. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The Black leather interior features optional power-adjustable seats, storage compartments in place of the rear seats, aluminum instrument dials, and carbon fiber and aluminum trim for the shifter and handbrake. Other accessories include a four-spoke leather steering wheel, power windows, a central locking system, automatic climate control, cruise control, the optional Hi-Fi Sound Package, and a Becker Porsche cassette radio.
Featuring a VarioRam resonant induction system, the air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine was factory-rated at 282 HP. All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Performance features include Automatic Brake Differential (ABD), multi-link LSA rear suspension, fixed 4-piston brakes with cross-drilled discs, and upgraded Bilstein coilovers. The CARFAX report shows that two tires were replaced by Porsche of Nashville in 2022, along with the drive belts and windshield wipers.
This sale will include a clean title.

@AZCollector Good morning! The original air box lid is included—please see photo 87 for reference.
Also, thank you to @mattdpa for pointing out that this is a Fabspeed Porsche 993 Carrera CUP High Performance Billet Aluminum Air Box Cover. That information is correct, and it’s a great upgrade.
It does appear that the motor sound package is not listed on the window sticker.
@AZCollector This is a Fabspeed Porsche 993 Carrera CUP High Performance Billet Aluminum Air Box Cover. I have one on my 993. It’s great.
This incredible 993 sold for $165,000 last time around. Perfect in all respects.
Going back the motor sound package. In Picture 71 it looks like the air filter cover is missing. Is that an aftermarket air filter assembly? Looks like a K&N or similar. Do you have the original air cleaner assembly? If so and it had the motor sound package it most likely would be listed on the window sticker and it would have a chrome ring on the air inlet.

@bphillyer @bphillyerI - I was able to find the following information from the original owner’s notes: “The Carfax lists an accident in 1997 with damage reported to the rear, which resulted in replacement of the rear bumper and lenses.” Outside of this, I apologize, but I do not have any additional information available.
@JayEvansPatterson59 Thank you for your question. The window sticker is included and can be viewed in photo #82. I wasn’t able to find the M159 option code listed on it. Please let me know if you’d like me to double-check anything further—I’m happy to help!
@Classic_chris111
Could you please help me understand the extent of the damage to the rear end of the car? Anything you could do would be appreciated.
Bid in the amount of $70,000
Sorry, the option I was referring to was the Motor Sound Package (option code M159, I believe). I owned three 993s over the years, two had it, one did not. I don’t see it on the window sticker but wanted to check, thx.

@Classic_chris111
Could you please share the paint meter readings from the driver's door? The number you provided for that door (8.1) seems to have a significant discrepancy.
@Classic_chris111 Sorry, I should be a little more clear in case you're not familiar with the oil gauges on this car. I am referring to the oil quantity gauge on the right side of the dial in pic 33. This can only be read when the oil temp on the left side of pic 34 is between the 2nd and 3rd marks (call it between 8:00 and 10:00), car is level and at idle. Oil pressure on right side of pic 34 seems fine at idle. Also, is there an owner's manual with the car? I don't recall seeing one in pics. My apologies if I've overexplained.
@Nein9 Good Afternoon! I’ve uploaded the additional paint meter readings for your review. Since this vehicle is on consignment, I’m not able to remove panels per the owner’s request. Also, due to our current service schedule, I won’t be able to get it back on a lift within the appropriate timeframe for this auctoin. I truly appreciate your understanding and am happy to provide any further information that may help. I will also have that video uploaded by tomorrow for consideration.
@agerberoff The other half is indeed photographed and will be included with the vehicle.
@JayEvansPatterson59 I apologize, but I’m not entirely sure what you’re referring to. I’d be more than happy to assist—could you please provide a bit more detail so I can better address your question?
@kevcam4 Thank you for your question! The oil gauge is fully functional and does show proper pressure while the car is running. We’ll also be uploading a video by tomorrow at the latest so you can see it in action for extra peace of mind.
Great point—@kevcam4 is right. The other half is indeed photographed and will be included with the vehicle.

@agerberoff I'm fairly certain the other half of the original air box is photo 87.
Do you have the original air box filter?
Does the oil level gauge work? The car seems to be at temp with a low oil reading, ref pic 34. Thank you!
Bid in the amount of $60,000
Does it have the “Deep Motor Sound” option?
Thank you for the added pictures. Can you please add paint meters near the rear panel near the emblem and one of the inside door sill. Any additional underside photos without the panels would be awesome too. Thank you
@Tgilbert Good Afternoon! I can confirm the vehicle dash is not leather.
@mrlove Thank you! This really is an exceptional vehicle!

@Nein9 Hello and thank you so much for your inquiry! I’ll be uploading the recent paint meter photos to the gallery shortly for your review. The service history is accurately reflected on the Carfax, and I also have some additional receipts from the most recent ownership covering the belts and tires that were addressed as well as various receipts dating back to 1998 including the suspension upgrades and standard maintenance.
We’re experiencing a pretty rough storm here in Middle TN today, but I’ve already scheduled our in-house content creator to film a cold start and drive video for you on Monday or Tuesday once the weather clears. I’ll make sure that’s uploaded right away so you can get a full sense of the car. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if there’s anything else I can provide in the meantime—I’m here to help!
Any service history?
The car has an accident showing damage to the rear… can you provide paint meter readings to the whole car and underside of the car.
Any cold start and driving videos?

Can you confirm if the car has a leather dash?
