One of the most sought-after variants of the final air-cooled 911, the 993 Carrera S combines wide Turbo-style bodywork with a traditional naturally aspirated flat-six engine sending power to the rear wheels. This 1997 example was sold new in Japan and comes factory-finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over Black partial leather upholstery. It features a rare “slicktop” sunroof delete specification, an optional 4-speed Tiptronic S automatic transaxle, steering wheel shift buttons, power seats, 18” 911 Turbo-look wheels, automatic climate control, an onboard computer, upgraded Bilstein coilovers, and an aftermarket JVC head unit. Imported from Japan to Canada in 2025, this Carrera S is now being offered for auction with approximately 78k kilometers (48k miles) showing on the odometer. Compared to a standard 993 Carrera, the C2S variant features a model-specific split-grille rear decklid and wide fenders, bumpers, and side skirts from the contemporary 911 Turbo. This non-sunroof example is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic (L92U) and features headlamp washers, integrated fog lights, RoW-spec side marker lights, heated power mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, dual exhaust outlets, and black Porsche-branded brake calipers. The car rides on 18” 911 Turbo-look wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps, and the seller indicates the tires need replacement due to age. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is appointed with Black partial leather upholstery and matching carpets. Accessories include power-adjustable seats, a four-spoke leather steering wheel with Tiptronic shift buttons, power windows, a central locking system, an onboard computer, automatic climate control, cruise control, and an aftermarket JVC stereo. The original Porsche-branded radio is included in the sale.

Equipped with a VarioRam resonance induction system, the air-cooled 3.6-liter M64 flat-six engine was factory-rated at 282 HP and 250 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed Tiptronic S automatic transaxle with a manual shifting mode. The car features cross-drilled disc brakes, a multi-link LSA rear suspension, and upgraded Bilstein coilovers. Records provided by the seller indicate that the fluids were recently replaced, along with the distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs, drive belts, and brake pads.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a tire inflator, and a Canadian registration.

The seller would like you to know: “This is a great C2S for anybody looking to avoid the stop-and-go traffic in a manual transmission. These vehicles are becoming more valuable as only so many were made. Great car ready for a new home.”

@carswitcher very straightforward swap. I have done many personally. All you need to do is gather up the parts needed and have a capable mechanic to install it for you. I might also have a line on a transmission kit.

    Final Hour of the Auction

Thank you to everyone for the kind words, enthusiasm, and overwhelming number of emails throughout this listing. Let’s hope this time around we can find the perfect new custodian for this stunning 993.

I can’t emphasize enough how beautiful this car truly is — effortless to drive, timeless in design, and among the most striking and rare examples of the 993 lineup. A true low-production gem that perfectly captures the spirit of the air-cooled era.

We still have one hour to go — if you have any questions, feel free to reach out directly. I’m happy to connect you with my trusted broker or assist with transport logistics. We have top-tier enclosed shipping available at very competitive rates, right to your doorstep.

Bid with confidence. Bid to win. Let’s find this beautiful 993 its next home.

Best of luck to all the bidders!

@porsdrvr95 tariff at 12.5% brokerage fee is roughly 300. If you wanna send me a direct DM, I can pass you my broker’s phone number and he can give you a breakdown. It’s a very straightforward process and he makes it just that much easier.

What are the fees and tariff to import into the US

  • sparecarrera 2 weeks, 3 daysago

  • Tripp (registered bidder) 2 weeks, 4 daysago

@Envypete looks like the last real bidder was $93,500. Basil who won and backed out bid against himself at $94,500, $105k then closed at $118k. It is a little strange that he was high bid at $94,500 then jumped to $105k.

I wish we would have had time to do the PPI over the past 3 days. I'm avalible for the phone call tomorrow

  • carswitcher (registered bidder) 2 weeks, 4 daysago

Do you know how complicated it would be to swap the transmission and make it a manual example?

  • Envypete (seller) 2 weeks, 4 daysago

This 993 C2S represents incredible value for what it is. I’ll never quite understand why some people hesitate being tiptronic, it’s a timeless Porsche masterpiece. Elegant, balanced, and absolutely engaging to drive, it delivers that classic air-cooled experience with plenty of power and sophistication. Considering that comparable manual cars with similar mileage and condition are now trading well north of $200K, this example is genuinely a bargain for anyone who recognizes quality and rarity when they see it.

  • Envypete (seller) 2 weeks, 4 daysago

@borneo — thanks for raising this.

To clarify the last run: the high bid landed at $105k. After the auction, PCARMARKET negotiated a deal at $118k on my behalf. Unfortunately, the buyer went MIA after initial conversations despite follow-ups from both the platform and me, so the car was relisted. There was no shill activity on my side—the prior bidder was a verified user, and PCARMARKET monitors and mediates post-sale negotiations.

I’m committed to a fair, transparent sale. Happy to jump on a call, share records, and accommodate a PPI at the buyer’s expense. I can also assist with import paperwork and enclosed transport. Feel free to DM me to connect directly.

  • borneo (registered bidder) 2 weeks, 4 daysago

@seller, the last winning bidder bid against himself in a very strange fashion, obviously shill bidding.
How do we know that bids are legitimate like we do on BAT ?
    Appreciate your feedback.

@Tripp 1. The previous buyer unfortunately went MIA, so the car is once again available to the open market.
    2. Absolutely — a PPI at the buyer’s expense is welcomed.
    3. We regularly handle imports into the U.S. with no issues and can assist throughout the process. We work with an excellent broker and have enclosed transport options available.
    4. Please send me a direct message, and we can set up a call at your convenience.

I was one of the bidders last month and have a couple of questions:
    1. What happen with the other deal and why is this car up for sale again?
    2. Are you willing to allow me to do a PPI at my expense?
    3. I'm located in the US. Is there any problems importing it? Can you assist with that?
    4. I would like to have a phone conversation with you about the car.
