The 964 generation marked a major evolution for the Porsche 911, introducing a 3.6L twin-plug flat-six engine. This U.S.-market 1991 Porsche 964 Carrera 4 Coupe is finished in Guards Red and paired with a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle and a rear-wheel drive conversion. It has been customized with a sunroof delete, an RS-style rear wing, BRAUM Racing seats, a Sparco steering wheel, a roll cage, racing headers, RSR-spec camshafts, MCS coilovers, upgraded brakes, modified exhaust, and more. Modified for the driving enthusiast, this Carrera is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York. Click here to view the previous PCARMARKET listing.

This 964 has been refinished in its factory-specified shade of Guards Red and features optional headlight washers and a rear window wiper. Modifications include a sunroof delete, an RS-style rear wing, and two-tone aftermarket wheels with staggered-width Nexen N5000 plus tires showing 9/32nds of tread. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The Black interior has been customized with BRAUM Racing seats with harnesses, a detachable Sparco steering wheel with a yellow 12 o’clock marker, a roll cage, and RS-style door pulls. The seller notes a crack on the dashboard, and the vehicle is not equipped with a radio or air conditioning.

The air-cooled 3.6-liter M64 flat-six engine is paired with a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle. The original all-wheel-drive system has been converted to rear-wheel drive, with the seller noting a reduced weight of 2,800 lbs and a dyno-verified output of 272 HP. The seller adds that the original engine and transmission have been overhauled, while upgrades include RSR-spec camshafts, racing headers, and a modified exhaust. An MCS coilover suspension system was installed, along with upgraded brakes. Documentation is said to accompany the sale.

This sale will include a clean title and additional documentation.

@ChadGee the engine was fully rebuilt back in 2020 with receipts/invoices provided in the gallery, the compression test results were 150psi on each cylinder and was most recently dyno tested in october of 2024 with printout in the gallery as well, this 964 has been a part of a collection over the past few years with maybe 500 miles on it since rebuild completion, no leaks or issues

@seller awesome modified 964! I have a 964 Targa that I love but would be awesome to add a fierce coupe to the stable.

Can you provide any details regarding the engine overhaul? When was it performed and details on what was done? Any receipts / invoices re the overhaul? Any leaks or known issues? Any compression or leak down test results available? Thank you!

  • Mspohn (registered bidder) 3 days, 9 hoursago

@jbird23 any of the original drivetrain components available out of curiosity? Is the current G50 transmission equipped with an LSD? Thanks!

  • jbird23 (seller) 3 days, 9 hoursago

@MattShaw Yes sir this auction is a re listing with a lower reserve

  • Marcus1248 (registered bidder) 3 days, 12 hoursago

@MattShaw I’m guessing RNM on the previous auction?

  • MattShaw (registered bidder) 3 days, 13 hoursago

I have to ask the obvious question. What is different about this auction vs the previous auction? Is it a relisting or did the owner change?
