For the 1987 model year, the 911 Carrera received a more powerfully tuned engine and a new 5-speed G50 manual transaxle providing a refined driving experience. This inaugural year example is a Carrera Targa finished in Black over a matching interior and features optional cruise control, automatic heating control, central locking, and 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels. Upgraded with a Fabspeed air intake and exhaust system, this Targa is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California with approximately 78k miles showing on the odometer.
This 911 is finished in Black with a black Targa bar and removable vinyl-covered roof panel. Equipment includes integrated front fog lights, heated and power-adjustable mirrors, a rear window defroster, and a Porsche-lettered taillight reflector panel. The optional staggered-width 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels are dressed in new Michelin tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, the driver is greeted with Black leather upholstery and matching carpets. Optional equipment includes cruise control, automatic heating control, a central locking system, an alarm system, and a Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46 cassette radio. Other accessories include a 4-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, power windows, and aftermarket vinyl floor mats.
An air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 217 HP to the rear wheels through a desirable 5-speed G50 manual transaxle. The seller states the engine has been rebuilt, and a Fabspeed air intake and exhaust have been installed. Additionally, a valve adjustment was performed, the air conditioning system was serviced, and compression test results are shown below:
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Hard to find triple black G50 Targa with good miles and fresh engine with great options including spoiler delete. All sorted, serviced, and ready to go.”

I good weather daily drove an '87 coupe for 7 years in the '90s. It always felt just a little underpowered to me even with the Steve Wong chip, but in retrospect it was always a blast to drive, especially at and above 4K RPMs.
I bought it from the original owner for $28,500 in 1994 and sold it back to the original owner for $25K when I switched to a 993 in 2001 - closest I ever came to making money on a car!
This one looks very nice.

@cpachec not any leaks whatsoever. And the AC is freshly serviced and blows cold.
Any oil leaks? Does the AC work?
@eggsandwich hello and thank you for the question. I believe they're 7's and 8's. And I'm not sure about the fuel lines. The engine has been through so I would assume they diid the lines.
Are your staggered wheels 6’s and 7’s or 7’s and 8’s?
And has the car ever had the fuel lines replaced?

@pdxjohn65 hey thanks for the question. Yes it does have a catalytic converter. Now it's a FabSpeed. So the question lies in which county you're in. I don't see why it wouldn't pass. But I know some counties are stricter than others. And some don't have smog to make it more confusing. I'm here to help in any way.

Sorry if obvious in the pictures, but...does the car have a Catalytic Converter? (I.e. can it pass smog check in CA)?

@Pmo75 just the recent major service. Unfortunately there isn't a huge file.
Thank you. Do you have invoices that come with the car?
@preposa2025 sorry for the late reply. A cold start video has been submitted and I'm sure they'll post it on Monday. If I hear anything different I will let you know. Have a great weekend

Do you have a cold start video?
@OMelveny yes I would that is correct.
Apologize about the semantics. “Rebuilt” in the description vs “refresh” in your reply. Sounds like it was refreshed and that makes sense vs a rebuilt engine, correct?
Bid in the amount of $12,000
@Julean73 it's a very honest car. Drives and sounds wonderful! Paint is very nice. This is always a loaded question because everyone sees paint differently. I would rate the paint as high driver, weekend car show level. If that helps..
Rubbers all nice on the car. And new rubber on the wheels.
Hi looks like a honest car. Any rust issues. What condition are the rubbers around the doors? The paint condition? Cosmic condition in general? Thanks 🙏
Bid in the amount of $11,500
@OMelveny if you talk to my mechanic he says 911's should all be refreshed. Especially after 60k miles. I refresh almost all my cars. This one was done well and we just did a nice major service. It has been new Michelin tires too and AC service.
A rebuild after 70k miles? Must be an interesting story behind it perhaps?
