The 1986 model year introduced the Porsche 944 Turbo (951), featuring a turbocharged and intercooled engine along with improved aerodynamics, a stiffer suspension, and larger brakes compared to the standard 944. This inaugural-year example is finished in Black over a matching interior and includes optional side protection moldings, a rear wiper, and Koni sport-tuned shock absorbers. Acquired new by the seller in 1986 and garage-stored since, this one-owner 944 Turbo is now being offered for auction out of New York with fewer than 50k miles on the odometer.
The 944 Turbo can be distinguished from a standard 944 by its more rounded aerodynamic nose with an integrated bumper, driving lights, and a body-colored diffuser below the rear bumper. This example is finished in Black (L041) and rides on factory 16” Phone Dial alloy wheels wrapped in Hankook Ventus V2 concept2 tires from 2022 at the front and 2016 at the rear. Options include side protection moldings and a rear window wiper. The exterior is described as being in excellent condition, apart from minor imperfections consistent with age and mileage. Inside, the driver is greeted with Black partial leather upholstery. Equipment includes power windows, electrically adjustable seats, a digital clock, air conditioning, and an aftermarket stereo system. The seller notes that the original Blaupunkt Monterey SQR 23 cassette radio will be included in the sale. Two very slight cracks are noted on the dashboard near the windshield, and all gauges and electronics are confirmed to be in proper working order.
The turbocharged and intercooled 2.5-liter inline-four engine is factory-rated at 220 HP and 243 lb-ft of torque, delivering power to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. Compared to the standard 944, the 944 Turbo features a stiffer suspension and shares its fixed 4-piston Brembo brakes with the contemporary 911 Carrera. This example was further optioned with Koni sport shocks. The seller states that routine maintenance has been performed, including the timing belt, water pump, and gaskets replaced within the last three years by Potzinger ReWerks in Huntington Station, New York.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, sales literature, and the original stereo.
The seller would like you to know: “I am the original and only of this beauty. I bought it in 1986, and life happens, my daughter and son were born, and my main driving vehicles became Jeeps and station wagons. Always garage-kept, insured, and registered. No driving it in bad weather. No rust anywhere. Moving on to today, certain medical conditions make it very hard for me to drive a stick. I have decided to let someone else enjoy this baby. It turns heads when it is driven. Starting in late 2020, I have had many parts upgraded by Peter Potzinger, a well-known Porsche mechanic from Potzinger ReWerks in Huntington Station. He replaced the timing belt, water pump, gaskets, and any other necessary components he suggested. I am not a mechanic, but I will try to answer any questions to the best of my ability. @ashcrestcollection Hi, I do not have the window sticker but if you look at picture number 147, it is the bill of sale to me with the options that were in it. I have the manual also.

@Artzco Hi, yes it was not driven much at all the last 3-4 years. After I retired I promised myself that I was going to use it all over the place and I got it all looked at to enjoy it. Soon after I came down with a physical condition in my hands and arms that make it very hard for me to shift, pull and release the hand brake. Even opening the hood is a chore. That is why it is on the market.
I notice in the mileage that it was rarely driven in last 3.5 years and mostly sat unused (spiderwebs in the chassis). Was much of the work you had done due to this?

@bphillyer Hi there, I will first address your rust concern, there is no rust at all. I have included pictures of the wheel wells. I believe rust usually starts to form at those spots. As I mentioned earlier, my car has been garaged ever since day one. Never even kept in the driveway. I never drove it in snow. As for the seals, during the extensive work done, a few years back, all the seals checked and gaskets changed. I do not have any oil or fluid leaks anywhere. As the pictures show, the seat bolsters are clean and firm. I have kept the car original like I got it from the dealer. The only upgrade was the radio and I am including the original Blaupunkt radio that was there. At the end of the pictures, I have included a list of the work done. I hope this answers any concerns you have.

Hi Mr.Izzzy, thank you for your honesty, and straightforward approach. Please, can you tell me your feelings on presence/non-presence of rust, how seals look, leak-down test and what would be the next thing you would do to better your beautiful 944 T?

@Jbuff172 Hi, the odometer has always worked but the Trip odometer got stuck and that gear has been replaced by Peter Potzinger.
Has the odometer always been in good working order?
Local other black 944T owner here- Centerport NY! The best shop around for 944 work for sure, love those guys. If i didn't get one last year off pcarmarket i would be all over this one, glws.
