As one of the final significant models produced before Laverda’s decline, the RGS holds a notable place in motorcycle history and remains a highly sought-after classic. The 1000 RGS features streamlined bodywork, integrating a sculpted front fairing and side-mounted fuel filler. This example is finished in red and rides on gold-finished cast alloy 18” wheels. Equipment includes fairing-mounted instrumentation, a full-width seat, aerodynamic mirrors, minimalistic badging, Brembo brake calipers, and Laverda Executive hard panniers. Power comes from an air-cooled 981cc DOHC inline three-cylinder engine, rated at 83 HP and 57 lb-ft of torque in stock form. Mechanical features include triple 32mm Dell’Orto carburetors, an electric starter, and a three-into-two exhaust system. The rear wheel is driven via a multi-disc wet clutch, 5-speed manual transmission, and chain drive. Triple disc brakes handle braking. No outstanding maintenance items have been reported.
