One of 63 examples produced for the Canadian market during the model year, this 1981 Porsche 930 Turbo is finished in Wine Red Metallic over a tan and brown leather interior. The car is equipped with a turbocharged and intercooled 3.3-liter flat-six engine, a 4-speed manual transaxle, optional Sport Seats, an alarm system, an electric sliding sunroof, an aftermarket stainless-steel muffler, and 18” Speedline-style three-piece wheels. It was sold new by Porsche Calgary and has been registered in British Columbia from 1994 until the seller’s purchase in 2023. Serviced with a new battery, tires, and several minor repairs over the last year, this 911 Turbo is now being offered for auction with approximately 62k kilometers or 38k miles showing on the odometer, accompanied by the original 16” Fuchs wheels, owner’s manuals, a binder of service records, and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. Click here to view the previous PCARMARKET listing.
The 930 features wider rear bodywork compared to a contemporary 911SC along with a front air dam and a Tea Tray rear spoiler. This example came factory-finished in Wine Red Metallic (895) and is equipped with H4 headlights, headlamp washers, front fog lights, a fender-mounted antenna, an electric sliding sunroof, black rear stone guard decals, a rear window wiper, a polished stainless-steel exhaust tip, and 18” Speedline-style three-piece wheels. Four new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires were installed in September 2024, and spacers were added to prevent tire rubbing. The original 16” polished Fuchs wheels are also included in the sale. The seller notes the driver’s side door and right rear quarter panel were previously refinished, and the paint remains in excellent overall condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with tan leather upholstery, matching carpets, and a contrasting brown leather dashboard. Accessories include optional front Sports Seats, a black leather three-spoke steering wheel, Turbo-script floor mats, power windows, air conditioning, an alarm system, aftermarket speakers, an amplifier, and an Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo. The seller notes the sunroof was repaired in 2025, and all gauges and accessories are fully functional.
The turbocharged and intercooled 3.3-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 300 HP to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transaxle. Service in the last year includes replacing the battery, air tube, air filter, hood and decklid struts, windshield washer pump, wiper blades, windshield washer jet repair, exhaust rattle repair, and air intake leak repair. A binder of service records is included in the sale.
This 930 is accompanied by owner’s manuals, a spare tire, service records, the original 16” Fuchs wheels, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a British Columbia registration.
The seller would like you to know: “Rare color Canadian example with a complete owner & service history binder since day one.”

Beautiful low mileage gem. Gotta sell some cars to make room for car such as this.
Nice "version for west germany" turbo. Back in the early 80's the question wasn't is Porsche going to win the race it was "which one will win". GLWS but it may not be your day today.

@tommeron Someone commented that this is not a Grey market car. Does it have the 3.3L with 300 hp, not the 3.3L 330 hp European engine spec? Also, as far as the US it's still considered Grey market and many Porschefiles still won't touch them - I had one and they're very hard to sell here.
@Speedater993 - Thanks for the help. My research found the same. Have a great one.

A vehicle older than 25 years can be imported from Canada to the US without needing to meet current U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards. This is often referred to as the "25-year rule". You'll still need to complete some paperwork and potentially provide documentation proving the vehicle's age. You will have to pay the duties on the value of the vehicle you are importing, as well. Hope that helps!

Hello. Aside from the tariff notes below, does anyone have any information on the import process and transport from CAN to the US? Also, is there a way to convert the vehicle from kilometers to miles without tampering and/or compromising the integrity of the odometer? Many thanks and apologies for the amateur hour questions.

17.5 % tariff to transfer to the US, Ouch!
@Bob_CarNuts , Bidding is in US dollars
Thanks for your interest

@AWClassicGarage - do you have any leak down and/or compression tests?
Maybe a quick drive video if those don’t exist?
Is it consuming or leaking any oil?
Also, what’s the depth on the spacers?
And finally, is the AC working and has it been converted to 134a?
Thank you!
Hi, assuming the bidding is un CAD dollars since you’re in BC ? Thanks!

I’m the last owner of this car. I owned the car for 29 years, still have contacts with the original owner. This is a special Canadian model, 1 of 63 imported into North American in 1981, it is not a grey market car. It has North American bumpers & euro spec engine. Very rare. Feel free to contact me for additional questions.

Hello @CarguyTexas911 & @WeranC55.
Here is the reply from our Customs Broker on the Tariff charges & looks like this beautiful 930 Turbo will be subject to a reciprocal Tariff.
" The 1981 930 Turbo was manufactured in Germany. This means your customer will have to pay full duty and fees for their import. Since this vehicle is over 25y old it will only be impacted by the IEEPA reciprocal tariff. The reciprocal tariff for Germany is 15%, this means the customer will be charged a total rate of duty of 17.5% for their formal import to US. "
Hope this answers the Tariff question & hope things change. We are available to answer any furhter questions on this amazing Porsche Turbo
Hello PCARMARKET viewes & registered bidders. We are happy to re offer this amazing 1981 Porsche 930 Turbo for sale located in Richmond BC , Canada.
Tarrifs should not affect Classic vehicles that are over 25 yrs old.
We can certainly assist with exporting to the USA or anywhere in the world.
The export process is very straight forward with The Brokerage fees of approx $500 - $1000 .
Duty is approx 2.5 % calculated from the purchase price. We can refer you to one of our preferred Customs Broker who will take care of Customs Filing for admissability to the US or world wide . We very close to the Blaine WA border & can also assist with enclosed shipping also with our preferred shipping carriers.
This is an original numbers matching , rare color combo Turbo with FULL Owner & Service history from day 1.
Happy Bidding & available to answer any further questions.
Car looks just right with the Spec and the wheels. Very nice. GL
Id also like to know on the tariff and what it would be to import it into the US
@AWSClassicGarage do you have any up to date information on the tariff costs if the car was imported to the US? Are you able to assist with importation and shipping?
I have read that classic cars of North American origin are exempt from the reciprocal tariffs, but cars of European origin will have to pay a 10% reciprocal tariff and a 2.5% base duty, for a total of 12.5%. Classic cars need to be at least 25 years old to qualify, so this 1981 Porsche should qualify as a classic car.
Do you know if the gauge cluster would need to be changed to read in mph and miles?
I appreciate anything you can share from your experience.
Thank you. Looks like a very well kept 930 Turbo.
