Building on Porsche’s 924 entry-level sports car, the 924 Turbo model introduced upgraded performance and aerodynamics. This 1980 example is said to have undergone cosmetic and mechanical refreshments between 2015 and 2017 under prior ownership. Finished in two-tone red and white over black upholstery with custom plaid inserts, this Turbo is now being offered for auction out of Connecticut.

Compared to the standard 924, the Turbo model can be distinguished by its signature NACA duct-integrated front hood, additional front air inlets, black polyurethane rear spoiler, and honeycomb alloy wheels. This example is said to have been stripped to bare metal and refinished in a two-tone red and white color scheme in 2017. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with photo documentation of the restoration.

The black interior was previously refurbished with red and blue plaid cloth inserts. Equipment includes a three-spoke steering wheel, analog instrumentation, power windows, air conditioning, and an upgraded head unit. The seller notes the fuel gauge is currently inoperable.

Power comes from a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine factory-rated at 143 HP. A 5-speed manual transmission drives the rear wheels. The Turbo model comes standard equipped with performance features including front and rear anti-roll bars and a stiffer suspension. As part of the 2015 refresh, work is said to have included servicing the fuel system and brakes as well as performing an oil and filter change. The seller notes that the shifter linkage is loose and recommends a tune-up.

This sale will include a Connecticut registration, a spare tire, owner’s manuals, restoration photos, and additional documentation.

The seller would like you to know: “This is a solid runner of a 924 Turbo. It has been restored and needs a few things mechanically, but nothing major. It is ready to be enjoyed.”

@markjames I took those photos on 8/11/2025 for the initial listing.. car has been in storage since.. they aren't old or outdated. Offer your best offer via the site. I'm not negotiating the comments section. Hope that makes sense.

@911cup LY7V per below and added galley pic. No extra parts are included other than what is in the car like the spare and a jack. The scrapbook with photos from the resto is also included.

@wassergekuhlt the battery tray looks clean aside from some expected leaf and small road stone debris. The AC does not work and it appears the blower motor control wire has been disconnected. That said, its all still there and can probably be converted to R134 and made to function with a resto to that system. Though the shifter linkage bushings are clearly shot on this car, that said, there is no grinding and shifts can be made smoothly as long as you have the shifter going into the proper gear.

I have sent a few pictures regarding these updates to PCAR and asked them to add them to the gallery.. keep an eye out.

Are the heat and air conditioning functional?
Does the transmission shift smoothly or does it grind between gears?
Is the area under the battery solid or has it rusted through?

Welcome to the auction for the 924 Turbo. This care was lovingly restored by a couple in Maine between 2015 and 2017. They did the interior and repainted the car. It also has mechanical maintenance done. As far as I can tell its got a fresh KKK turbo, the transmission has been serviced, and the brake master cylinder has been done. Other regular maintenance is documented like fuel filter, oil and filter and a brake service. All the lights work. The wipers work. Known flaws: the gas gauge doesn't work, the AC is all there, but doesn't blow cold, there is a slight leak in the turbo oil drain, and the shifter linkage needs to be serviced. You can get all gears, but its a little sloppy. All around great looking car and its ready to be enjoyed.

    Happy bidding
